chainlink's biggest threat is layer 1 chains making them irrelevant through putting in their own decentralized oracle architecture. Unfortunately for chainlink this is ultimately somewhat inevitable, as an increased market cap just puts a greater target on their head. Chainlink's advantage is that it has years of infrastructure built out and thus will likely be hard to topple.
