Serious question: why would it? Other coins generate hype with the promise of future revenue. AMPL doesn't have a revenue model. The hype was about "free money" from the rebase, ignoring the fact that you can only realize those gains if you have a steady stream of new buyers. But why would they be buying? It's just distilled greater fools theory. And this is all besides the fact that the coin is literally designed to inflate in order to lower the price per token. The delusion with this coin has been next-level, but the pinkjaks are just beginning. You thought the last two days were bad? Wait until it becomes apparent that a negative rebase is imminent.
