companies taking venture capital also accept terms and conditions, such as delivering in X years, making regular progress reports (sometimes weekly or even daily). they give voting rights on decisional matters to their investors, and generally preferential treatment should the company go belly up
with 10k link you have no legal right, not even any business relationship, nothing except the hope to unload your bags on a bigger fool
