Hi Frens,

How does one deal with being “priced out on life”
>be me
>”fake” upper middle class upbringing (Dad has 500k+ in debt) to LARP as rich
>All my friends are “trust fund” brats
>too poor to hang out with the rich, too “rich” to hang out with the poor
>Dad moves to FL, brings me with at 18 senior in HS

Now I’ve finished college and want to move back to the northeast. I just have some good friends up there, and I like having space. If I take a dump to loudly here in FL all 300 of my neighbors can hear.

So how in the fuck do I afford the life I was allowed to LARP as growing up? Like how do I get to the point where I can afford a nice comfy home, and life? Quickest route to 200k a year income.

Notes, I just graduated college. Degree in cybersecurity. Making $15 an hour as a Network Engineer 1, I’m having a conversation with my boss demanding more pay or leaving within a week.

It's not going to happen. Grow up and come to terms with the fact you aren't going to get that quality of life back for years.
-t 28 year old who took 6 years to realize this after his parents lost everything, lost their home, spent his trust fund, etc etc, and didn't tell him until he graduated with a meme degree.

Yes. Do not, under any circumstances, leave a good job for the promise of a better one. Do not, under any circumstances, take on the role of provider for impoverished family members. Do not, under any circumstances, allow yourself to get into the mindset that "things will get better, I just have to survive,".

Things are not going to get better without your action. No one is going to help you. The poor will hate you because you have been wealthy and the rich will laugh at you because you fell from grace. Everyone loves the story of a fall.

Do not leave a good, stable, job for one that pays more if there is the slightest hint that the work environment will be toxic. Toxic jobs kill your motivation and you will lose sight of the goal.

Stay fit, stay healthy, save every dollar, avoid debt, and do not waste time with friends. They will betray you eventually.

Agree, quitting your decent job is a losing move. Make yourself invaluable, get promoted to engineer 2/3 , and during the promotion phase, do not settle for a salary less than 65k
