For example if you buy a stock at $3.95 and it falls to $3.36 how do you get the loss percentage out of it? Do you just divide 3.36 by 3.95? Does that mean it fell 15%? On my app it says I fell 12.95% in this case

DCA at a rate proportional to your plan. E.g. if you want 80:20 SOXL:TMF, you could buy one share a day at a rate of 4 soxl, then 1 tmf, then 4 soxl...
Or you could do like the doombull in chief and get tmf on green days, soxl on red days... and reduce how much you buy based on relative position imbalance (or just hold it and rebalance later).
Things like tqqq and soxl go up and go up fast. You want to be in, you don't want to wait for "good entry". The next "good entry" is either the next leg down, or it's the next crash that will only happen in 10 years. With TMF+{TQQQ|SOXL}, you're good to go even if there's a second leg down.

The 90% statistic refers to people who lose 90% in 90 days. It does not account for people who exit the market having lost less than this.
"Daytrading" as it existed in 2000 is dead, replaced entirely by robot overlords. The only space left is really swing trading based on price movements from catalysts. Earnings always exist, but playing market overreactions is probably the best play. But its still mostly about risk management to win 60% of the win while still willing to not be emotionally invested in turning those 40% losers into bigger losers.
