The biggest reason is probably due to the potential profit difference.

To get rich off of stocks you either already need to have a lot of money to invest, or get extremely fucking lucky and manage to buy into the next amazon.

With crypto you can just buy something when its half a cent, and then sell it when its only a couple of bucks. And you only need to put in a couple of grand to become a millionaire. So for someone with a job, throwing down a couple of grand a year on some potential moonshots is nothing in terms of investment, but the potential payoff is astronomical compared to stocks. Good luck making any kind of money investing 5k into any stock.
