So I was following the whole TSLA/option discussion in the last thread and I'm still not clear on one thing cuz noob.

If you buy puts or calls and you're wrong you lose the premium at most. Why would one sell calls or puts going against their own decision and potentially risk unlimited losses? Damage control?

Also, what's the difference between buying calls or writing them? Is there any?

you should sell calls and puts if you already hold the underlying stock (covered calls) or have enough money to buy the stock if it gets exercised (cash covered puts). Only a retard would sell naked calls and puts.
