It's not unique, I'm sure. It's just another way of grid trading. Here's a pic to show you what I'm doing.

I trade forex, and basically I counter trend trade. I've set up RSI to run like a grid instead of just overbought and oversold. My current favorite is a 4 period RSI with a 4 layer grid on top and bottom. The grid tells me how much to risk, which I have predetermined with scripted tickets. The deeper price goes against me, the denser my order bank becomes. When RSI crosses back over the 50, I dump and start over again on the other side.

Successful trading really is all about money management, and doing it this way allows a very simple, linear way of doing it that also allows for lots of variations to suit the user. I'm still fiddling with my risk profile, but this is the first time in 4 years I've ever felt confident about a trading plan. It's like everything finally clicked in my head today.
