Most people here have the time and autism to dedicate towards picking and following stocks/ETFs, so you're going to get skewed responses.

Like >>20121765 says, a lot of funds are not worth it, and you could achieve or beat their returns with passive index trackers (for a fraction of the price). That being said there are funds out that consistently beat the market with ridiculous returns, and whose fees are offset by the dividends paid out on an annual basis. Personally I'd say don't have more than one fund at a time; your fund will have a focus/geographical area (usually, unavoidably, US focused) so try to diversify with low cost index trackers looking at other sectors/markets.

Then you can largely forget about it, and spend what little time you do have investing in pure memes for fun/occassional 10x.

What goes up must go down. Youve been playing on upward volatility these past few years. But there is a bubblerino. Etf's underlyings are massively illiquid, and when the time comes for people to want to pull out their money from said etfs, it wont be possible for them, leading to further steeper downward spirals.
Currently people belive that a companys worth is reflected in its stock price, but I think a large portion of it is speculating on other's speculation.
And I am not wrong.

If you cant read a companys reports and figure out the specific you will eventually get fucked.

For someone so quick to direct me to r*ddit you're remarkably easy to bait. At no point have I said all mutual funds are worth it, based low-reading-comprehension brainlet, I said there are competent, comparatively (to other shit boomer ones) low cost funds out there that beat the market. The original anon clearly has little free time to put together a portfolio of ETFs/stocks and then track it week to week). He's clearly leaning towards funds, so I gave sage advice to pick well, and to limit himself to one, with cheap index trackers to balance it out. And don't start with expenses, I've shown you already that the dividends comfortably cover the fee for the fund in question, which is pretty low compared to a lot of poorer performing peers, and which still outperforms in a five year period.

You're likely on the autistic spectrum from your post style, possibly aspergers, so i'm not surprised you're unable to articulate a balanced position. I hope you don't trade on those same emotional impulses.

Kek. VTI (ETF) and VTSAX (MF) are the same total market funds. Same return no mater the one you pick cause both are the same. Really comes down to personal choice. MF your whole dollar amount you toss in can be used. ETF, your limited by whatever the cost of "one" share is so any left over investment dollars just sit there on the side. So yeah pick whichever one you like and be happy. Long as it's making you money who cares you know.

You can't put anything in vtsax if you don't have at least $3k. vti has an expense ratio of 0.03% whereas vtsax has 0.15%. Fractional shares are a thing, but even excluding them, the maximum uninvested difference is $155 at this time, 5.1% of the minimum investment for vtsax. That wouldn't even remotely account for the increased expense ratio, whose weight is magnified as your investment increases, while the converse is true for the """uninvested""" amount going for vti.

I need some feedback to make sure I'm doing my DD right. I'm starting to think that TSM is going to moon like AMD once more exposure is put into it (when US subsidy is hopefully confirmed for it) as "experts" make it more understandable to normies. The information is out there like how AMD kept stagnating for months even though information on Ryzen was already available (but too hard for normies outside of /g/ to understand).
TSM beats the living shit out of both Intel. It's also ahead of Samsung.
People keep looking at the node sizes and fab capacities to compare the fabs between TSM, Intel, Samsung, etc. but the transistor density tell a completely different story. Like who cares if Samsung is going to get to 3nm first if it's only equivalent to TSM's 5nm?

i am so tempted to literally go 100% into TSM right now and just stop stressing over my portfolio for a few years. The only thing holding me back is the geopolitics risk between US and China.
Is there something else I should be considering?

*but of course this isn't as exciting as chasing pump and dumps or even SOXL so /smg/ probably won't care.

the closest you have is TSLA, which pumped relentlessly from 80B to 220B

the best that you're going to get out of TSM is a strong pump. at the same time, the risks to their business are if chinese (mainland) fabs really ramp up in a competitive way

TSM is already in SOXX and S_M_H, so the most aggressive that you should go is something like 50% TSM and 50% SOXX for your semi exposure
personally I wouldn't go more than 25% semis total, even though they're good, I wouldn't want to be overexposed

i a dmit "mooning" is definitely a bit extreme a term, but i'd be extremely happy with +50% or even +30% by Q1 2021 with something (from what i understand) pretty low risk. Even with the geopolitics risk, TSM seems to handle playing both sides pretty well with how they bounced back after the Huawei thing.
i'll still probably set aside a few grand on gambling/speculating shit just because i may have a gambling addiction with stocks (don't most of us?), but I like to think I still have enough rationality to not extend that to the bulk of my money.

i'm still sore about weed stocks from a couple years ago though, can't believe i was so stupid back then to just jump into the bandwagon with no DD

Yes, it's very inefficient if you're creating hydrogen from renewable energy. On top of this the fueling stations are 10-30k each compared to cheap electric chargers that can be placed almost anywhere. Maybe the companies that consume this hydrogen will switch processes sooner or later.
My question is: assuming hydrogen truly is a meme, is the only true fundamental for the company being able to sell to companies that literally require hydrogen for their processes, and there's no alternative? Surely these companies already have a hydrogen supply chain well established.

That wkhs is going to gap up to 25 monday

It has to pullback doesnt it?

Do I just sell everything else and go all in?
