It's laminated gold leaf. The coloring is on the laminate as far as I know. They're actually quite flimsy, not sure how they're supposed to hold up to circulation. But I mean, if it creases and the gold leaf cracks it still has X-ammount of gold in it.

Figured there'd at least be something else, but nope. All 20 were indian-head-buffalos. I just hate the way the text at the bottom of the buffalo side is designed, and think it looks like crap compared to some other generics.

I'm sorry anon. I can't take that risk. History shows otherwise, more and more people are talking about the records Gold is breaking during its typically low season(June, July, August is usually slow for Gold). Smart investors will be looking at what they do and don't want to clip should markets plunge again, and Gold would/will be one of the assets they'll maybe take 5% or 10% off their position, instead of the 30% or 40% like they did in March.

if its just standard bullion 1oz coins, made in the millions every year and they have no other value than the scrap silver metal they are made of, you shouldnt care a second about them tarnishing. its what silver does over time and its not worth it to seal them in. I bought my coins just like that from someone that believed he would get some kind of premium if his coin looked just like it was made yesterday, I paid spot price for it nonetheless.

for numismatic silver, yes vacuum sealing is the best solution.

There's different ways to get different effects. Sometimes just time and touching it with fingers can give some nice rainbow looks, sometimes people give it a chemical treatment. The ones you buy "antiqued" (and pay extra for) use chemicals. Pic related. I'm not sure what was used on that particular ASE though. Here's where I found the pic--

yeah i like the idea of gifting a child a small treasure chest. with maybe a silver coin like ASE or something attractive. and maybe a silver cross necklace, an inexpensive reproduction old fashioned looking pocket watch and chain, other small but not garbage trinkets.
just enough to make the silver coin have more about it that they can relate to so they dont just see a silver coin as a single boring meaningless coin
for girls you could combine it by using one of those wind up music boxes for the treasure chest
for boys, something more male centric like a small wooden ammo box or small tool box or something

Jesus clearing the temple is OOS for me.

I think the main issue is that they covered most of the really good themes already, so not much left to explore.

That being said they were ahead of their time. No wonder so many "people stacking PM's are evil conservative nautzees" type articles are popping up... there does seems to be a distinct political affiliation in the PM crowd.

I bought my first mosin for 100$ in 2013

I bought an MRI for 225$ in 2014.

They are 350 and 400 respectively. It's funny that the only reason they gained value was because of scarcity due to import restrictions. That's probably why I have a hard on for bitcoin and silver in thinking that it will pump massively in the next decade.

Besides those, I have half a dozen ARs from different manufacturers. Handful of shotguns, pistols, Pistol caliber carbines, battle rifles and an old smith model 10 that I inherited from my grandfather. Probably at about 40 guns now.

yw, fren
Also I think you might be right as far as they already touched on so many topics. He was kind of all over the place, but I agreed with a decent portion of what he was talking about. Sometimes he has seemingly contradictory stuff though. Heavily Christian sometimes, but then he'll put out coins that have stuff from other religions. Also, he talked about Trump's ties to Goldman Sachs and other banking cartels, and Israel etc... but then he put out a Trump 2020 coin. I'd actually like to drink a few beers with the guy and find out where he stands on a few things.
I heard he deleted everything except for one video and disappeared from YT for a while, but I also saw that he just reappeared and put up a new video. Haven't watched it yet though. I hope it means that there will be some new coins soon, and I hope that they're better than what's out right now. We'll see.

Royal Canadian Mint numismatic products are such a scam with totally high premiums compared to the US mint.

Hey frens, need some help on these rounds, my gf got me the bottom 3 rounds from some random eBay page and im not sure if there genuine, the design isnt my issue but they all have a © symbol on them on the reverse and obverse, they don't say 1 Troy ounce and .999 fine silver in the same spot, and they seem to be slightly thinner then the other rounds I have like the two above them in the pic that are genuine. Anyone have rounds with those bottom designs? Just for some more info the weight of all them checks out, there all slightly above 1 toz (the heaviest being 1.004 toz) the ping test doesn't seem off and there not magnetic, don't have any other ways to test them but I may take them to my LCS soon and have them checked out

I intend to have many hedges against that scenario. You should as well. If you're wrong, and the current structure remains, but in a altered form, you might want a few assets besides silver, beans, and lead.

I'm sure they do, but it's a collectible.
I've never understood why people would pay so much for a rare baseball card. And when you think about it, why are paintings worth such an insane premium when you can experience the art in replicas just fine. You could even have a replica that copies the brushstrokes near-identically.

The art example makes some sense though.

But there IS a market for collectibles, even if it doesn't make sense.

Buffalo Rounds have been made by countless companies, each with slight variations to the design and dimensions. If they weigh right, aren't magnetic and sound right, their probably genuine, but if you aren't quite sure, you could test for diamagnetism. Slide a magnet down the rounds at a 45 degree angle. If the magnet moves down the round at the same speed as it does on something you know to be silver, it's genuine, if it moves noticeably faster, it's fake.

what do i buy if I want some physical silver but don't want to pay the huge fucking tax for eventually flipping it?
Coins? Junk? I have some sterling pieces but they're tiny and inherited items of some sentimental value.

pic is a bloomin onion, it's the whole reason one invests: to build generational wealth.

Most coin shops or gold sellers/buyers will let you test for free as long as its only a couple coins, or a modest fee, or free with purchase

Like this anon said >>20103490, many different mints have done their own version of the buffalo round. Test it like you would any round, but I wouldn't be worried about small design differences. There's also an app you can use that will analyze the "ping".
Sounds like you have a good gf, fren. Maybe school her on how to pick a good ebay seller, or just show her the dealers in the OP. Teach her how to shoot, and you got a keeper!

anon we would never suggest for you to buy 1oz coins in a popular format for your area to avoid taxes by selling them off in quantities of a tube or less. that would be wrong

The IRS doesn't care about morality, their concern is following the letter of the law.

But does that mean coins that are legal currency? US or foreign? Or just rounds, just a flat piece of metal?

Wait so... the tax only applies to the profit you made?
So if I sell $11,000 worth of gold and I paid $10,000 for it originally, the capital gains tax would only be $280 (28% of $1000)?
