Can I use algorithmic trading to make a profit if yes, how do I do that?

If you have a few hundred variables you can algo something like a horse race if you have enough researchers statisticians and the right environment. If you're trying to make something general for the wider market, you'd have a better chance of predicting the weather a month from now.

If you give away trading algorithms they eventually stop working. There are no rules, just what works. The only important hint is to simulate results with past data before trying them in the wild. DYOR.
