Crypto is generally very risky, since it can literally be worthless within hours and can be at the mercy of whales and miners

Ethereum is probably the most safe/stable crypto, but it is still a crypto


I think when people say its risky, they mean its risky to buy during a pump or ATH, because it can go down, like when it dipped from 57$ to 35$ desu

Bitcoin is risky because well, just look at the fork scare...
It can go down in flames.
Ethereum is risker cause it relies on bitcoin.
Other altcoins are even riskier since in most cases absolutely nothing is proping them up except a promise.
At least bitcoin has some usage now, you can buy shit, many people know about it.
Ethereum has some enterprise support and an eco system of sorts, many depends on it now so its more stable.
Other altcoins are super risky. Any one of them can have some detrimental news which will plummet the price 50% which may neverbe gained back.
A loss of innocence about monero might simply kill it for exmaple nahdve it be replaced by zcash.
Shit because of zcash's proximity to ethereum it might kill monero, a 300 mil coin.

Shit like pivx looks like an out right scam and probably is. I am sure many havelost their money on its pump and dumps that were probably orcastrated through insider trading of the pivx team themselves, controlling the pumps by releasing info to close whales who pump the coin before big news is let out to the public.
