20036878 No.20036878 [Reply] [Original]

Anyone here know of countries where American citizens can buy property without objection or accounting nightmares?

I don't see USD maintaining it's value through this cultural revolution so I'm hoping to escape to a cheap place that accepts foreign investment.

Let's say I have a couple hundred grand in cash and want to go survive off some cheap multi-unit real estate that I find in a pleasant locale. I'm assuming it would be SEA or South America. Need low violence, solid property rights, favorable foreign investment acceptance, and low chance of that changing.
Fast, consistent internet would be a major plus.

Any suggestions?

Buy properties in embassy districts. A lot of SEA countries don't allow foreigners to buy property.

Think about somewhere where you can live for (generally 5) years to obtain a new passport so you can renounce.

One of your other issues being a burger will be opening bank accounts to transact in. Look up Transferwise.

Are you just buying on numbers? you should go to these places, check out the country. Get a lawyer to pay taxes/bills in that country if you proceed.

You want to aim for Europe or Asia then. Excluding Russia. Other places like Africa or South America are a crapshoot, you have to research the countries well.

I'd say the UK but outside London if you have a couple hundred grand. London property is just owned by rich Arabs, chinks and Russians to launder their dirty money. Any other major city would be a solid investment

It's the most stable and prosperous country in the world with by far the best combination of regulatory regime, stability and tax structure, with the world's best infrastructure, human capital, etc, backed up by a military so large and lethal that it roughly has a 2:1 advantage over the rest of the world combined. It's got a massive road network, cheap electricity, huge ports, incredibly low crime and corruption, a pro-growth government -- and the human capital, oh man, aside from having a good chunk of the world's best universities turning out the world's best-educated professionals in literally every field and discipline every year, there's a huge backlog of high-skilled foreigners educated elsewhere who are desperate to get IN to America. Every year the US government turns away thousands of fucking PhDs who want to work in the USA.

>but niggers burned down an Autozone in some flyover state

Think about a GDP measured in the dozens of TRILLIONS of dollars a year and it puts that little media sideshow in perspective.

We're about to enter another 4-year bull market, probably a little better if Trump wins, but not much worse if Biden does.

I think it's funny Asians don't let foreigners buy property in their countries, but any objection towards letting them launder money in our domestic real estate markets and causing wide spread homelessness and economic suffering is considered regressive and xenophobic

In South/Central America, Chile, Costa Rica and Panama are the nations with most stability and credit (Chile best of 3 but recent riots kinda lowered its stability).

In SEA it's probably Thailand. Thailand is the region's large player and its Monarchy/Military dictatorship shows that the big players do anything to maintain stability. Singapore's good but over there a home is worth three hundred trillion dollars. Malaysia is okay.

Australia though it’s not cheap.

You can get a block of units for your money maybe in suburban Brisbane Or Adelaide. We also have strong landlord rights compared to tenant rights

Keep away from Asian countries. You’ll get swindled and scammed and lose all your money

I know a friend of a friend of a friend that invested a lot of money in the Philippines (a pretty big coin arcade) and after a few months the local gang with guns just decided to take over the thing and tell the guy to fuck off. The government didn't do anything about it either. That's all that happened. The dude just lost $150K just like that.

Not sure what city. He just brought two shipping containers of arcade games, bought a building and created an arcade. This was in the 90's. It all came falling down once he paid someone to take care of it (he was tired of going back and for the between countries) and that hired guy informed the local gang and they shared the loot.
