Shill your dividend stock here and why. I know that the board is divided on dividends(kek), but its a nice thing to have and is great when you can't sit and watch the market all the time.

right now they're weighted at 20% each. nah i don't like oil personally, i think it's risky and will eventually be obsolete. there are a ton of good buys to make before considering oil in my opinion

I’m a retard so I need some help. If a company pays 4% divs quarterly do they pay 1% each quarter or 4% each quarter for 16% total yearly yield? Idk why i can’t find a straight answer on this

>> No.19978306

>>19978212
When you see the yields, those are yearly. So a 4% yield is in fact 1% per quarter, but some pay monthly and I think there's other payment types as well.

I mean, oil relies on being able to peg exchange rates and a bunch of countries that hate each other not fucking each other over, all the while facing massive regulatory risk in the US and Canada. You'd be a brainlet to think that oil won't be used in 15 years, but it's still a shit trade

>> No.19978732

Picking up some cheap oil stocks that have a track record of good dividends seems like a smart long term play.

Pay less attention to yield because it is relative to the share price. Look at the actual amount that will be paid for the year. Also pay attention to cash flow and earnings growth. You want that dividend to show potential to grow.
