Welcome to PwC. Here you'll learn to fake it and pretend to be working. In a new era where micromanagers cannot find grounds to control you anymore, maybe we finally realize that not only they are not useful, but we're better off without them. Gerry Capuano is your typical power-tripping micro manager that everyone forget about for convenience. From one day to the next, after some management shift, I had to answer to him while I never talked to him prior. He was based in Ottawa and I in Montreal and how grateful I was to be away from him especially feeling the toxic atmosphere of the Ottawa office (one former colleague there once confided that he was literally harassing her when she called sick). I once asked him if it would be possible to arrange for me to have Antidote, the French version of Grammarly, installed in my company's laptop. IT was no help. Completely thrown back, he did not understand what was this ''Antidote'' and offered to book a meeting on Google calendar to discuss it. I just let it go and never heard of it. So I never got it unless I paid for it or cracked it even if the translators' department was using it. On my first year of working there, I asked to take 10 days vacations during the holidays. He kept on postponing his decision for weeks. December came around and plane tickets were getting more expensive. I decided to just book. Shortly after, we all got a grouped email advising us that the offices are going to be closed during the holidays. Thanks for nothing. He was constantly infantilising, basically insulting my intelligence, and I had to play the game responding yes and then go on doing my thing.

After nearly two years of being a zombie doing a BS job, and after some restructuring in our team which left me with less work, I wanted to leverage my tasks. So I was approaching different departments to offer help, until I got myself this temporary mandate with the “clicky” communication team, they were not very helpful either getting me onboard. This is a company that supposedly promotes skills transfer btw.

In the meantime, the "manager" went ahead and attributed to me some boring clerical tasks, even worse than what I was doing thus far. I talked to our supervisor - his immediate boss - to explain my position. I went ahead with this mandate - otherwise I would have been fired already - and my manager’s ego did not stand this bypass.

Then I was writing pamphlets (ground breaking) for the non-existent AI services, for the famously verbally abusive sells lead Ramy Sedra in charge of sells, who once hung up on me when I called him up for questions. This is also a company that was still using Lotus Notes when I started.

After the end of this mandate - which was not conducted due to lack of finance in AI (go figure) - I was still fired, while I just moved out which was of course the least of their worries. My fate was already decided by the end of that fiscal year. My manager surely bad-mouthed me to this other manager Sheila Mason, which I never talked to but who was still the one to announce it to me, arguing the classical “lack of initiative” or something along this line, as being the reason (which of course can’t be quantified), before being escorted out of the premises like a criminal, forbidden to even say goodbye, my ongoing work got immediately shut leaving my communication colleagues in trouble. This joint is a joke. At least have the respect and guts to be honest with me about not needing my position anymore instead of blame shifting. But then this is a BS’s kindergarten, despite their so-called inspirational team-building retreats.

Never was I as happy to be fired though. That marked the end of unfulfilling and downgrading jobs for me. I took this employment gap to learn programming, and landed a first job within the first year. No more of this hypocrisy. So much for lacking initiative. Funny how the insignificant jobs make your life harder. Basically, if you have no hope, hate life, want to be a mere number, go work there. Your soul will definitely die.

This job review was denied on Glassdoor and Indeed because of the mention of name. But I take it as a duty to report abuse. Plus, it is like a comedic drama. So here.

Anyone who goes to work for one of the big four is a Class A Cuck by definition. Is there a more cucked profession possible? Maybe working for a credit rating bureau but even then it’s close.

Good read. Thanks for posting. We make fun of wagecucks here a lot, but big 4 rank-and-file accountants seem to be the most cucked of all wagecucks. I don't understand how anybody can work those jobs for the insulting salary they offer.

Good read, friend made it to a senior role at kpmg its the same thing - micro management which leads to extreme drug or alcohol abuse to cope. Another buddy of mine that I was a vendor for now works on the IT side with kpmg as well its all the same crap at the big 4. fujitsu is like a highschool simulator of pettiness if you end up in an office outside of Japan. Japan offices of any company are micromanagement hell, Honda is lame, toyota and mitsubishi pay the most but are lame. IBM is dying and run by boomers trying to stay afloat and will sacrifice everyone and everything. HCL do not work with these Indian fucks if your company chooses them you will lose millions every day to the sheer incompetence displayed...

I'm reading the actual reviews of PwC on Glassdoor and the reviews (all 4 and 5 star reviews) read like they were written by cult members. It's like they are all afraid of saying anything bad about almighty PwC. The only companies I see that have more obvious fake reviews are MLM scams.

I know they conduct internal reviews which are supposed to be anonymous but actually are not. So I wouldn't be surprised but the HR team was in the loop.

LMAO I'm watching this every day and they angry why I don't speak to them

Man I feel you and really happy that you no more have to deal with this. I'm currently at same situation and looking how to pull exit scam to abuse all these fucks to maximum degree.

Been looking for other jobs and pretty much if you have your "years of experience" you can land +20% pretty much anywhere and have 666x better working conditions, teams and far more interesting projects

All these big companies are for people who went to universities NOT because they care of education or actually want anything, but because they can't leave the daycare-center facilities and need someone to look after them, and after leaving uni/college they move to companies of this sort exactly because of this reason

fukk man, bless you
