Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

I went all in on something this morning right before it spiked and I was up 20%, $500, and 1/4th of my portfolio after being on a long losing streak. Been telling myself to TAKE PROFITS and I could have made it in and out in 10 minutes but no no no it will go higher. Now it's basically back to where it was.. might spike Monday but I feel dumb. Nothing. But /smg/ is fine if you ignore the tripsfags and annoying theme posters. You should unironically welcome sub-100 IQ, narcissistic tripsfags for labeling themselves, it makes discarding their worthless opinions much easier. They are some pretty smart anons in this thread sometimes, you just have to be able to tell which ones they are. As well, the perspectives remain pretty diverse, but even then I don't encourage forming your whole perspective from a 4chan post. With that said, main stream media is no better either.

A few quick questions about day-trading on Robinhood. I know you need $25K or more to be able to trade more than 3 times per 5-day period. My questions are these:

1. Once you've deposited 25K or more in your account, and the funds have cleared, does the PTD counter just disappear? Do you have to change any settings?

2. Does this condition automatically give you margin or leverage? I want neither, so I'd like to be sure Robinhood isn't just going to randomly extend me margin or leveraged buying power without me asking.

3. As long as I only trade with the excess (money above the 25K), I can retain my ability to day trade an unlimited number of times, correct?

Hello /smg/, I've been working on using some generic machine learning to predict the market, by taking data about the 8 biggest gainers and losers for the day. I got the machine to do some predictions for me for the first time today. Here's how it thinks the following stocks will do by the closing bell on Monday:

gainers:
API: 7.97%
CBLI: 3.92%
MDCA: 8.41%
SHLL: 8.41%
IBIO: 8.47%
ANY: 7.22%
GRAF: 8.41%
VXRT: 8.47%

losers:
LK: -3.14%
HCR: -0.93%
IDEX: 2.67%
SHIP: 0.21%
RCON: -1.27%
SOLY: 0.85%
GLBS: 1.36%

spoiler, it had a really hard time with the gainer data, so I expect it to be very very wrong for those.

>Once you've deposited 25K or more in your account, and the funds have cleared, does the PTD counter just disappear?
Yes, but that 25K is based on current stock purchasing power. So you want more than 25K in case some of your holdings dip.
> Does this condition automatically give you margin or leverage?
No. Margin is enabled separately and requires an (easy) application process with brokers. I am not sure what RH does but you can enable margin with less than 25K. The purpose of margin is to prevent good faith or reg T violations if your actual cash balance is low.

>Spoonfeed me. Why are they not advertising on social media?
It's become a hot topic, unfortunately. Politicians don't know how to regulate it, and the businesses don't really know how either. The people they hire to wade through content literally break down and need psychological counseling after viewing so many beheadings, molestations, rapes, murders, animal abuse, etc.. And that's the content that's EASY to moderate.

The political content is hard. The loudest people are on the far ends of the left and right. On the far end of the left, they want speech policing because "das rayciss" and the people on the right have a good case that some of their conspiracy theorists are being censored.

I had a guy I liked on youtube get a video taken down for a bit because he was ranting about the Borax conspiracy, and advocating people microdose Borax, which is a detergent that could totally kill you if you took like a tablespoon of it. So that was annoying, BUT you can understand why they'd do that, because they can be held responsible for this shit.

So they started censoring some of Trump's tweets because he referenced tweeted some shit that implied he wanted the rioters to be shot. Read more here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/When_the_looting_starts,_the_shooting_starts

And now the left and the right feel like they have perfect justification to hate their favorite thing, social media.

Yes I'm allowing that to be assumed away because they are recent and haven't died. This doesn't negate the fact that we had a plateau (and/or increase) for weeks and weeks and yet deaths have been declining markedly the entire time.

Look at the public debt.

Look at the annual interest costs of US treasuries how much of the federal budget they're eating up right now.

Interest payments currently 2nd biggest line item in federal budget. But where is it going?

What happens when we hit $30T in public debt?

There is a limit to the amount of money that can be printed.

We've got ~$3T of printing left till we hit $30T.

How much printing did it take just to get us to June?

How long can they delay the big crash with $3T?

If anyone wants a second chance to buy puts like it's February 2020, think about this and figure out when the next February will be.

Testing is increasing, but it's increasing at the same rate it has been for the last two months. During most of that time we saw both a decline in new daily infections and, naturally, a decline in the positive-to-negative test ratio. Only recently have we started seeing an increase to both. There's no correlation between the rate of testing and the increase in positive results.

We actually had a downtrend for most of that time. Refer to >>19962983 again. The daily infection count declines from its peak, which was sustained through April, to the middle of June, when the trend began reversing. Deaths follow a similar uptrend, stabilization, and downtrend.

The next couple of weeks should confirm whether the uptrend in infections results in an uptrend in deaths. I've heard that the average age of infected people is trending down, which might cause a corresponding decrease in the proportional death uptrend. These things aren't completely straightforward. I have no dog in the fight, and I don't want to see anything shut down again.

They have not. The original ATH was 37K or thereabouts in April. Daily infections trended down from April to June. So did deaths. Again, the death rate stabilized in a manner consistent with the stabilization of the daily infection rate.

Again, consult >>19962983 and observe confirmed cases, April 6 -> April 22, and deaths from April 14 -> May 8. Don't mind the anomalous spike near April 14; I'm going to assume a fluke in the data. I also have suspicion that the death spike from yesterday is a fluke. We're talking about trends here anyway, not isolated data points.

>Deaths have decreased far more rapidly than cases since early May.

Let's omit the high April 14 death spike, which I stated I believed to be a statistical anomaly. The highest daily death count otherwise was on April 21, at 2938 deaths.

Meanwhile, the highest daily infection count before this recent uptrend was on April 24, at 37,437 cases.

The daily infection rate declined from late April to mid June, bottoming out at 16,664 on June 7. Meanwhile, daily deaths bottomed out at 266 on June 21. So while daily infections declined to about half of its high, daily deaths declined by about 90%. Which is a very significant decrease in comparison. So I grant you that point.

As I stated before, this might be due to the trend downward in the average age of the infected, improvements to treatment, seasonal changes, and so on. The governor of a state I can't remember interviewed on CNBC yesterday or the day before and stated that far fewer patients need ventilators now, which is obviously a great sign.

Try Moldova. You can pay a state librarian to add your family into a historical database (and get ancestral Moldovan citizenship, which allows you to become a resident of Romania) for less than a couple grand.

1. Are you white?
2. Do you live in a state that doesn't border the ocean or a coastal state south of the mason-dixon line?
3. Is high school diploma your highest level of education?
4. Are you overweight?

thanks in advance even though I already know the answers

Way too complicated for me friend. Just taking a 5€ flight to Romania and getting that done is way easier. Maybe rent a room for 100€ a month and get a post box. All I need I guess.

I live 200 meters from the Austrian border in Bavaria. I will just move to Austria and delelte my local residency. That way my gouvernment will think Im gone, where to is none of their business, the Austrians see me as a poor sap with just enough money for a room and the Romanians as a rich investor. No complaining from no one.

Sometimes the EU is great.

Crude oil will follow the path of gold albeit lower. Still has more room for growth than most of the commodities. I doubt oil will go higher than $2000 since everyone knows cash is still king, unless Buffett and Soros would suddenly simultaneously switch to gold, then it's to be expected that their cult will follow them to the edge of the cliff.

Cool. I wasn't sure whether you just had it out for me, but you're right to scrutinize the narrative and the data.

>The next question then is what does it mean if the virus is killing significantly fewer people per infection?

If this trend continues, in that the number of daily deaths doesn't quite reach April levels, it may still come down to hospitalizations and strain on the medical system. I find it highly likely that the media will continue to harp on its disaster scenario narrative, and the left will aggressively push rising infections and hospitalizations as a justification for rent postponement, economic shutdowns, and the like, as they are want to do. It all depends on what happens with deaths/hospitalizations in the coming weeks.

There's a slim chance that the media may do its due diligence and emphasize that the virus' mortality seems reduced compared to its initial surge, but I should also point out that we don't have confirmation of this yet anyway. We need to see how things proceed a week or two out from here.

I can agree with treatment but not with precautions. No one I know seems to care about it, regardless of age. Everyone assumes that everyone else cares, but when you get them in a corner with a cocktail they all admit they think it's basically bullshit. Not fake, but just not very dangerous when compared to the hype and societal impact. These include people in their 70's, some with COPD etc. I think the panic we see in the media (including social media) has decoupled from what real everyday people actually believe in their heart of hearts. If I didn't know any better I'd say it's the most successful gaslighting campaign in recent history.

I guess we should look back. I'm long gold because I'm long commodities. As much deflationary play we might get, i really think they're generally under priced and the production shocks we're going to get with lockdowns and outbreaks will help them stay at higher prices through a deflationary period... I think it leads for some reason, but we should check the charts.
