Lol, “plasma” doesn’t exist anymore and hasn’t for at least a year

OMG Network is not plasma as it was originally called, it’s a child chain scaling solution using proof of guarantee

Vitalik literally clarifies this later in the same thread

>> No.19961818

Where’s the fud? Plasma/OMG is good for high tps (10,000+) at very low cost, but can’t scale general contracts, only transactions. That’s ok because that’s exactly what it’s designed for and where the money is

Rollups scale contracts, but only to a relatively lower throughput (I think the limit at the moment is 2000 tps)

Rollups are also still experimental (as the guy who started that thread said) and the 2 “solutions” he’s talking about there are quite honestly terrible. Fees and KYC kill rollups for me

>> No.19961868

Read the full thread dumbass, he’s talking about contracts not transactions - plasma is nowhere near ready for contracts because nobody cares about scaling them at the moment, it’s all about the money

If OMG was far out from implementing then why the fuck would tether decide to use them and not ZK rollups? Because they aren’t far out and you can’t read a twitter thread OP

What have you been saying exactly? OMG scales transactions, not games which is what he’s talking about here. Who gives a fuck about games when cold hard cash will be running through OMG Network

Yes, because OMG will take most of the transaction volume from ETH. ETH 2.0 will deal with contracts and transactions, but considering OMG will ALWAYS be faster, cheaper, have higher tps than the ETH main chain, and already has some of the biggest transactors in crypto on board. Think of OMG as transactions perfected for ETH.
