Has anyone who is hyper-focused on their business or career cut out their lazy, distracting friends?

I am curious how much of a benefit it is. It would be very traumatic for a few of my clingy friends.

I make 140k right now as a codemonkey but I want to build a business. Most of my friends are focused on weed, cooming, or playing games that trigger nostalgia.

Unfortunately I have a fiance who takes up a good bit of time too. Hard to cut her out as I want kids.
