Just wait my boy. I suspect that the next leg down will be September or August. The only reason the economy is still standing is because of the Central Bank policies which will stop at some point.

What we have now is not the status quo my man. The amount of debt that is made per day to keep afloat is making wars seem like cakewalks. And I can tell you that that has little to do with Corona.

Take a look at the interest, purchasing power, corporate and government debt, lack of actual investments and growth of the past (nearly) 2 decades. We never left the crisis of 2008.

If it is done too aggressively, complete collapse of fiat currency probably after about 2 years, return to gold standard accompanied with a great depression that will take at least a decade to recover from as societies figure out how to adjust.

If it is not that aggressive, it won't be strong enough to overcome the existing problems and the markets will crash anyway.

What is happening right now is the Fed is flattening the curve on the market crash because allowing the market to crash too hard would cause it to go into oversell mode. Say the equilibrium right now is supposed to be SPY250 - if the Fed lets the market down slowly we might hit 250 and then be able to naturally go back up from there as the economy recovers. If the market was left in freefall it might crash to SPY250 and panic momentum could carry it all the way down to SPY100, causing a longer and more unstable recovery back to 250 and beyond.

100%. I don't know what's going to happen in the longer term because the jig is up as far as the manipulation goes. The moment you don't see any follow through, it's over and you're going hard in the other direction. Generally, you see weak moves to the upside that look like they're going to follow through. They don't. They never do. So when you see them start to fail, you start hedging, exiting longs, shorting, whatever. Prices go higher and don't stay there. Prices have been going lower, staying there, then looking for a move even lower.

>> No.19860983

The problem is that it's going to take at least a couple years for things to actually rebalance, and even printing enough to maintain crab levels at SPY300 is going to cause problems over that much time, so at some point they're going to let it start sliding down.

Everyone is guessing what the actual timelines are going to be from here out. Personally I think we crab up until at least the start of September (maybe as long as the end of November) and then the second leg down starts sliding as early as October (maybe as late as January).

The major crashes in the 30s and 70s show that it's not unreasonable at all for the market to crab back up for even a full year after an initial crash, before the second slide starts.

You know as well as I do there arent many people on here making $1k+ a month off the market. Hell, if he did 2 small houses for 200k and just kept 50, that would be 2k a month. He would break even in the same amount of time, except after that he would be making $48k a year in simple passive income. That's equivalent to working full time for ~$18 and it's completely passive. There's a reason those with real money buy land anon. It's an asset that literally never goes down as long as you don't buy it in some shitty inner city. There's a reason Trump started out in real estate, specifically middle class renting in New York. It's literally guaranteed income with no risk.

Tankers are curious stocks. They are doing extremely well right now but the stocks trade for shit (even though hedge funds are getting in en masse). All of them pay out massive divvy for the coming quarters. Question is what will happen to the sector after that.

I am keeping my DHT stock just to gather divvy and wait out the upcoming supercycle. Analysts are divided on this. The idea is that tankers are depreciating assets and many will be scrapped soon. This is seen as bearish.

However, the oil market will contract some in the coming months/years. This means that the tanker companies will just scrap older ships. As there are no new ships (check the order book). This means supply (of tankers) will fall faster than demand for oil. When the demand for oil picks back up we will have a severe shortage of tankers I think.

Anyway, do your research before entering the market. It moves inverse to oil until it does not. Eratic movements up and down are not uncommon in this sector. Prepare to backhold for a while but the divvies are nice and the (not so near) future is bright. In the short term we can actually see all time lows.

>> No.19862249

With $300k, you can easily make over $1,000 a month just off of dividends. Also, you fucked up the math, 2 houses at 1k a month gives 24k a year, not 48. Real estate is only good because it is super safe and is nearly guaranteed to appreciate over time. The issue though is that the you barely make any money off of it. Real estate only makes money for people that are already extremely wealthy and have shit tons of property.

>> No.19862297

>>19862228
>demand for oil
Demand from the oil sector for oil tankers.

To sketch the image: tankers (at least from DHT) have a break even price of about 8 - 10k per day. Lets put it at 12 to be save. They raked in 120k per day during the contango earlier this crisis. Those prices are gone (contributing to the selloff back then) but still far above the break even points of tankers.

Shit is a cashcow right now and I can't wait for the next earnings. During the last call DHT actually said their Earning per Share were higher for Q2 than Q1. This was the 5th of May.
