Anybody ever make the move to one of these states or done some extensive research on the savings from moving?

Everything is cheaper and most importantly there is no state income tax.

States that don’t have income tax including Florida, Tennessee, Alaska, and Texas usually make up for that deficit in some way. TN farm land can get really expensive and you still have to pay taxes in interest/dividends from your investments instead of wages. Texas is a lot of open land and the only places worth living in are highly expensive (Dallas-fort worth, Rockwall) so it’s hard as f to get anywhere without driving far/flying. Florida has no state income tax, but higher sales taxes and real estate prices regardless if its beach front. Additionally, the weather now plays an even bigger role in insurance costs and property taxes to offset the amount of damage that occurs regularly. I would never recommend living in those places, but rather buying rental properties there. There are much more beautiful states to live in and less full of garbage. Florida is primarily Cuban culture mixed with tourism and retired white people. There are still a fair share of black people as well. Texas has an insanely large Mexican presence since it’s directly bordered with Mexico and you are only a few hours from vicious cartel rivalries and beheadings of teens. I’d only recommend buying land there and renting as well, maybe to cattle farmers or solar farms.
