You'd probably do very well in computer science with your binary thinking, but masks, like vaccines and for that matter herd immunity, are not either 100% or 0% effective. You probably think from your individual perspective, where they actually are 100% or 0% (the mask saved you or it didn't) but on the scale of a population, if the masks save say 30% from infection, it was 30% effective, and that's why using them is a good idea.
You may go on to say the virus isn't dangerous, and that's why masks are useless, and I could have that debate too with you, but that's a different discussion. When it comes to masks, you are right from your individual perspective, but wrong in the perspective that counts when discussing if it is a good idea for society at large to mask up.
Think about it this way. Treating covid patients is expensive as fuck (remember the famous $1M bill that made the rounds in the world press?), with long hospital stays. This money is taken away from the stock market and from consumer spending, i.e. from your gains. That's why you want people to mask up, to reduce say 40% of that impact (I said 30% before but that's because I'm making this number up, I just know it's between 0% and 100%), even if you think they look gay and you refuse to wear one while pretending to be manly on your bike.
