Late 2017, yes, we were going on the whitepaper + SIBOS really. But by Linktober 2018, there was a point where I think that most of the board had at at least a suicide stack, and many had 10k+. That was the point where I decided to go all-in (sold the last of my BAT which also around $0.30 at the time) and have remained so since.

So you had a lot of people with big stacks, and 50k+ certainly wasn't unusual.

But yeah, if I had to guess, I'd say 15m+. Remember also that a lot of people left in the first half of 2019 too, with farewell threads prior to mainnet due to the predicted influx. Which has certainly come true.

I didn't visit much in 2018/2019 so maybe I underestimated the hype. I think your estimation of most having 1k, some having 10k and a lucky few even more true, if we're talking about pre-mainnet. Then for the $2-$4 era that we're still in I think the average buyer must buy a few hundreds of link, if not a few dozens. Some buy 1k of course, and some even more.

I think given these data it's reasonable to assume that the average OG-linker have about 5k link (median is much lower but it doesn't matter) while nulinkers have about 800.

honestly /biz/ collectively probably owns about as much link than the new world order does. people like those at the world economic forum and the people at swift were in on it about as early as we were because a lot of people on /biz/ were in on the ICO, even though the ICO wasn't "For" poor people, people pooled their funds together to get in on it.

and in terms of collecting link from ~2017 until mainnet, i bet we were a bit more gung ho about accumulating than they were. i get the feeling that outside of the link dev wallets, /biz/ has the most chainlink out of everyone.
