If you wanna stay home and have a NEET-like employed life I recommend teaching English online. A lot of places pay peanuts but if you show any competence and can claim to have some experience (maybe hire on with a local tutoring company for a few months) you can do alright. You won't make as much as you might lEaRnInG tO cOdE but that's a years-long commitment. I make about $28 an hour and it's pretty easy. You do have to wake up at retarded hours like 4am though.

I started as a freelance writer in college and now write full-time while pursuing an MA. My income is pretty solid, like $60k a year now for 20 hr workweeks.

Started by posting on reddit and then became a writer in the blockchain world.

If you can write coherently and quickly, you will find it very lucrative. Content is king online and look for new sectors to find your niche.

After you have a stead stream of income freelancing, your name will be known and you’ll have relative job security. You can then pursue your other dreams, whatever they may be. Embrace being a free agent.

Good luck chasing the writing dream. Sister did it and had an okay job writing stuff for a light industrial company. She hated it since her passion was always creative writing and eventually went back to school. If you want to go back to school sooner is better than later. You don't even need to do a full bachelors or masters. I've seen a lot of people do on campus stuff for things like GIS and land 25/hr starting. Not great but hell of a lot better than working minimum stocking shelves. Make sure you do your own research because half the programs make up how many people get jobs going out of stuff. Avoid online since you are probably already a slacker.

Yeah it seems like wage growth for the skill sucks compared but it still has a decent living up here at least. 70-80k/yr will allow you to own a house one day and it does seem to have a decent number of jobs. I think the strategy would be use it get some experience working with developers/miners/etc and try to pivot into a management role at some point. Also GIS isn't very hard so a brainlet can do it.

Yeah I'm pretty comfy I could have done investment banking/law or some hyper intense high paying shit but I'm way happier this way. They also hired me with the intention of moving me into a leadership role bc of my business minor and club leadership positions in college. Literally told me they want to make me project manager my first week I started in a couple years. I will be able to gain leadership experience way faster here than a big public company which will put me in a prime position to either stay with the comfiest company or move laterally to a big public company with a leadership role. Also want to start my own business at some point but probably wouldn't seriously pull the trigger until around 30 when I have more capital, information, and experience

No it didn't your just lazy.
Even if they had an extreme effect that is over now.

"concentrations" are a good start.
Now build a portfolio and start getting contacts in the industry. These things don't just walk into your lap.

Lot of opportunities in power on the consulting side. Liberal states are pushing towards eventually requiring all buildings to be zero net energy. This translates into constant business for firms that help people build new shit or update their old shit to the new code or regulations
You can't go wrong with EE though if you have over a 3.5 GPA you can pretty much pick any state in the US to work. If you're flexible about state than you can pick any disciple you want e.g. analog, digital, RF, EMAG, power, solid state materials, etc. Lots of opportunities and the educational foundation is strong you will be well prepared for literally anything else if you want to pivot down the line

G'day Anon
I did a Double Major in English Lit with Honours in Shakespearean tragedy. I did a couple of years as an army officer and then went into Big Pharma. I am now in medical devices as the Sales and Marketing Director of a multinational company for Australia and NZ. It pays 200 a year plus car and bonus. It ain't really big dough - but, it has paid off the mortgage, built a pretty good cellar and flown me around the world in more style than I otherwise could afford. It is a comfy place to wait for The Singularity
