I need to stop staying up so late and checking the futures and pre-market. It makes me worried over nothing. I was fearing for my life and my margin seeing minus 1000 futures last night, but I am literally almost going green today after buying the dip this morning. Smart money got outplayed by the retail gamers.
Buffet sold airlines at the bottom.
Carl Icahrn sold Hertz at the bottom.
Hertz might actually be saved by the retail shareholders.

Stockmarket gambling is rampant, speculation is at all times high. Smart money sold out failing to grab the gamblers money so now, they can only lose money to other gamblers.

This is going to be an uncomfortable 48 hours for bears. I've shorted into markets like this before and when the shit just doesn't seem to want to go down like this on a day where it seemed the ground should fall out from under it, the next day tends to be a pretty strong day that puts all your shorts offsides and then you're rolling the dice on the following day to see if it puts them off even further or you get lucky enough for you to be back to breakeven and THEN you need another weak day to even justify the position. I wouldn't mind if we got a drop so I can accumulate some more since my positions are a little light right now if we end up going higher, but from a buying a standpoint this is also a bit of a pain in the ass because price is tending to step up, hold, and then step up again. Each time you're waiting to get a bit lower, price never gets there, and you're not getting filled. I've been there on the Bear side and you're just like "mother fucker..." as a $100 profit suddenly seems like a max of $80 profit which then suddenly seems like a max of $40 profit and then the writing is on the wall and now you're playing the game of "well I'll just take a scratch on it and let ride from here!" which usually ends up meaning you'll ACTUALLY let the trade turn into a loss which is like someone twisting your dick off.

Vanguard is the BEST! Vanguard is the BEST! Vanguard is the BEST! Vanguard is the BEST! Vanguard is the BEST! Vanguard is the BEST! Vanguard is the BEST! Vanguard is the BEST!

>> No.19732883

Why investors love Vanguard
There are three main things that make investors happy:

1. Choice
Vanguard’s comprehensive stable of more than 170 mutual funds and 80 ETFs allows it to fill every niche of an investor’s asset allocation needs. Offerings include:

Index mutual funds. Since company founder John Bogle launched the Vanguard 500 Index Fund in 1976, Vanguard’s suite has expanded to include index funds for bonds, international stocks, emerging markets and more.
» LEARN MORE: How to invest with Vanguard index funds.

Actively managed mutual funds. Unlike index funds, the stocks and other assets in these funds are curated by investment managers.
Target-date retirement funds. This type of diversified fund contains a mix of Vanguard’s broadest index funds that gradually shifts toward more conservative investments as your retirement date draws near. These funds are popular in employer-sponsored retirement plans like 401(k)s.
Vanguard ETFs. Bought and sold like individual stocks, these offer investors the opportunity to purchase a small stake in most of Vanguard’s funds at much lower entry price — the cost of a single share versus the $1,000-plus Vanguard fund investment minimum.
2. Low fees
All mutual funds and ETFs have a management fee, known as the fund’s expense ratio. It’s a percentage of your overall fund balance that is automatically deducted from your investment returns every year to cover administrative charges, management salaries and other overhead costs.

» Examine the cost: Calculate impact of fees on mutual fund returns

Vanguard’s expense ratios are known for being lower than the industry average for all of the major retirement-savings investment types. Lower fees mean more of your money remains invested in the market. Although a few fractions of a percent may not seem like much of a difference, it adds up over time:

eg., their idea of leverage in negotiations is threatening to damage the value of your trade commodities by impairing their own buying markets by making shit up. China is run by retards.

Vanguard investment expenses vs. industry average
Vanguard average expense ratio Industry average expense ratio Account balance difference after 30 years* after $50,000 initial investment
Source: Vanguard and Morningstar Inc. as of Dec. 31, 2017.
*Assumes a 6% average annual return
Mutual funds 0.11% 0.62% $40,973
Target-date retirement funds 0.13% 0.50% $30,139
ETFs 0.08% 0.31% $19,378

3. Competitive long-term returns
The low-fee management approach has enabled Vanguard mutual funds to outperform other similar mutual funds over time. In fact, over the last decade 178 out of 199 Vanguard funds — nearly 90% — earned higher returns than their peer-group average during the same time frame.

And the best Vanguard fund is…
It depends.

We’re not being evasive, just realistic.

The best Vanguard fund is one (or several) in sync with your investment objective and budget. That involves choosing between active and passive management, identifying appropriate funds and seeing if you meet Vanguard’s mutual fund minimum (as low as $1,000 for many funds, and much lower for Vanguard ETFs).

» MORE: An A-Z guide on how to invest in index funds

How to buy Vanguard mutual funds
The easiest way to buy Vanguard mutual funds is in your 401(k) or 403(b), if they are among the investment choices. This helps you sidestep Vanguard investment minimums. But, because of retirement plan fees, the expense ratios may be higher than what you’d pay if you bought the same funds directly through Vanguard or even another discount broker.
