What's funny is that the best thing economically for them would be oil prices staying high or going higher since it incentivizes more production. The market has yet to adequately understand/evaluate them and I maintain them solely as value trades. Spreads, covered calls, staggered limit buys and stop loss sell orders with trailing percentages.. In a crab market like this it's really not that hard to hold 10% portfolio bags with 90 day trailing sell orders while you make plays on the other 90%. Of course you could end up holding 4 bags if you got unlucky but holding 4 bags for more than a few weeks in THIS market is unreal. That's unless there's some crazy bear roll into another -7% day with circuit breakers going off. But that just means your hedges on something like TVIX activate and you use that new cash position back into the staggered buys and..

Nevermind. I really don't care how the market does. Anything that beats blindly buying SPY with DCA is fine with me. Sure, 1000% plays on options would be nice, but for every winner there's a loser out there. And if you lose it all once, well.

Just adding more with tanker autism, right now the bear case is that no oil demand and no oil production means no oil transport while tankers unload their cargo due to no production. Market never priced in storage being so high and staying high after the decline, but won't care. Also market don't care about future contango potential/the middle of this technical mega contango still. Nor does it apparently care about some shale restarting production and Saudi Arabia saying screw OPEC and producing, all of which are very bullish for both tanker transport and furthering supply glut which helps keep rates high. The market.....just does not care that conditions are good for them or that they made a year's worth of profits in Q1 alone and will have another year's worth in Q2, so I don't know how it will turn out. So, added more positions because maybe they just won't be recognized until Q2 earnings in July.
