When did you realize that the skill of sifting through 4chan to find actual advice is the most valuable thing to have?

The way 4chan operates, the 'authority factor' doesnt exist. This factor is seen in reddit's karma system, and in real life can range from status to good looks. Majority of people cannot think for themselves, so they need this authority factor as a crutch to make decisions in their life. These people are so easily manipulated, because they appeal to hivemind activity, and more importantly they are blind to their own conscience.

When you can effectively differ good advice from bad, jew slayer from goy, millionaire from pajeet purely on text alone, you can apply this skill to every aspect of life, and ultimately you realize how important listening to your own conscience really is.

it's true, 4chan, for all the BS, is the best source for info on the web. It's always ahead of the culture.
I got into bitcoin and ethereum because of 4chan, and that alone has paid off my mortgage.

Well said. The ability to sift through information, in the fucking information age is an extremely important skill to have.

Most people try to automate this by going on Reddit and having hivemind information fed to them, or watching news and having (((important information))) fed to them.

There are flaws in both of these traditional methods, because although hiveminded information can be good for certain niches (for example getting a good value computer monitor), it can be abysmally bad for general life advice (look at these statistics, get into debt, and become a wageslave like the rest of us).

Information from the news media is an open channel to the interests of the company & contributors, and in 99% of cases is a waste of time that doesn't affect your life.

4chan however is filled with a lot of shit, but the content I view is unrestricted, so I can find what applies to my predicaments/situation and apply it accordingly.

Feel the same.
I kinda thought crypto was a bit of scam as of late, like how can you lose? Reading what people post and shill and realizing that people do often lose, that was an eye opener.

Lots of folks are getting cucked by the bitbeans, PIVX, 420 coins, etc. I feel like they believe in it enough that they don't want to admit here that they've been fucked. That there is still hope that it will go back up.

Definitely true. I was introduced to 4chan back in my something awful days and have seen it morph into what it is today.

This site has always had an equal share of bad and good and the good is very useful. It's the anonymity that makes it so. People don't post shit that will get community approval because that's totally worthless, allows for dissenting opinions.

That being said, /pol/ is absolute shit.

So now ur a college dropout who goes to /pol/
, trades crypto all day for income, and works on his aquarium in his spare time "imposing his will on reality" and "thanks" to 4chan? LOL. It's a cambodian anime basket weaving board senpai and everyone knows this where literally every Christmas for the last 5 years they've posted nothing but child porn and it's own founder got cucked for some quick e-poontang and sold everyone else out shortly after to go work for as a wage-slave for a multinational corporation. Take that for what it is I've been here a long time too but read a book holy crap you said yourself this place is mostly garbage and shill-posting (which it literally is)

There's lots of trading robots, just from forex markets there are EAs(expert advisors) that do autotrades. Most are pretty shit, but there are companies out there doing a fairly good job like automatafx, etc. Robots that trade for you. There's a danger of 'overfitting' trading robots, where they make a robot that will get great results in a backtest but that's because it got used to the old data, and the future usage will show much shittier results.

This euphoric vague sense of having your shit life improved while it objectively stays shit, for reasons that no clear-thinking person can comprehend, is extremely reddit-ish. In particular the sense of having access to special information that is publicly available and the inherent inability to recognize that other people probably have inner workings of similar complexity to your own. You're not a souvereign individual capable of free thought in a world of sheep. You're following what teenagers construe in their minds, upvoted through "you"s and relentless bumping that mostly people without a steady employment can afford.
