Without oracles, smart contracts aren't very useful, it's a huge market. It's not an easy problem to solve however, which is why chainlink's first mover advantage is huge (technology wise and adoption wise).

disruptive because smart contracts and oracles allow assets to be lent and managed in a decentralized way cutting the costs of said loans and using smart contracts allows capital to be raised globally and and seamlessly. The end user gets an interest bearing stable coin which will be attractive both for retail and traditional financial institutions. No normie is going to lend their crypto which they dont have because the think its a scam. But for a project which provides yield on real world assets this could really bring in trillions of dollars in capital from traditional finance. Basically this could be the largest lending company in the world for the next few years. N
