He seems so unassuming as a person, and yet he draws such profound reactions out of people. Some instantly see a new future in him; others seem to instantly trip over themselves with anger and hatred at him. From day one, from the moment anyone becomes aware of him, it's been like that.

Why is this? Why such intense devotion and intense hatred?
