So what's the pool? Benefits of adding to it?

Example:
In the beginning, all of the 5 tokens were worth $1000, so the pool size was $5000.

Now, say all other 4 tokens remained at their old value ($1000 / token), but STA did a x10, so STA value in pool is now worth $10,000.

That's much more than 20% of the pool, so the balancer must balance it out.
Note that now the pool size is $10,000 (STA) + $4000 (other 4 tokens) = $14,000.

So, to balance it out, each token should now have value of $14,000 / 5 = $2800.

To reach this goal, the balancer must sell the excess STA, and that would be $10,000 (current worth of STA) - $2800 (the new target worth of STA) = $7200.

The balancer sells the excess on various exchanges to which it has a trading bot interface to. Currently, it's only Uniswap.
Note that by selling, it performs transactions, and thus burns tokens, so the supply also decreases!

So, now that the balancer has sold the excess STA, it obtained $7200 dollars (say, in DAI coins).

Now, to balance out the other 4 tokens, it must buy $7200 / 4 = $1800 worth of each token.

So, it buys $1800 worth of ETH, $1800 worth of LINK, etc.

In the end, it's all balanced at 20% for each token - all 5 tokens are now worth $2800 dollars each!
And the total pool size remained at $14,000 dollars - so no value was lost!
Plus, you also get the trading fees, which are added to the pool!
On top of that, Balancer is now issuing BAL tokens for all liquidity providers!

Not really. I suspect the reason people have lost trust in the bot is because they assumed that the price kept going back up after dumps thanks to him rather than realizing the burning tokens played a minor part in the upwardly trend of the price. New people coming in were pumping up the value, but Thanos helped the price to go back up a little still (like when we went from 0.026 to 0.052,it managed to bring it back to 0.012, etc.). Hence why I slightly changed the OP

I wanted to say more, but the character limit prevented me. I hope that non English speakers can share the word and increase the amount of buyers, but be sure to be honest with them regarding Thanos' capabilities. Otherwise, they will panic sell like the others who naively thought that a token would be foolproof, but it's partly our fault since it was advertised as such.

I’m not a “crypto guy” i just dabble and i herd about STS and got in. I was on my way to sleep when Ben jumped in the chat asking questions about what happened with the initial version and why no 1:1 swap etc... i can agree that some of the group members were not happy about Ben and his comments and may have been a little rough to him initially but i believe some of that was rightfully so. Abu however Was not that way , I thought he was respectful and went out of his way to let dude know that he would be transparent ... i woke up and read the whole exchange and even Scott’s response and I think both Scott’s and Abu handled it well and did the best they could to outline the series of events and why everything happened the way it did. I thought Abu was fair in his criticism of Ben initially bc he was basically saying he was disappointed that he didn’t come to him first and ask those questions before bringing it up to his telegram group . The way he did that led to a ton of people calling the coin a scam which may have had a negative impact and honestly i can feel what Abu was saying there bc if i were him I would feel the same way.. I’m not sure if Ben stayed on to get the entire response but I honestly don’t care.... i think the admins did more than they had to to try and be transparent and even engaging in that convo out in the open in the group showed a level of transparency I personally have not seen in any crypto project i have been apart of. It’s my understanding the developer reached back out to Ben personally to apologize if he offended him by anything he said. I hope Ben can accept that and that apology can be the start of more convos bc Ben does have a reputation in the space and I hope he can see that these developers are legit and handled the situation the best way they couldd
