19405538 No.19405538 [Reply] [Original]

I am a free software dev and my programs have gained popularity over the last couple of months. I now want to include a donation option so I can get some freedombux from doing stuff that I like.
The problem is just that there are so many payment services nowadays that I have no idea which one to use. I like crypto, but hate the proof of work concept (because it is a huge waste of resources). Would using pic related (nano) as the only crypto payment option make sense or would nobody donate at all?
I have also seen patreon being used by every youtuber or "content creator", is this any good?
Please share whatever your thoughts are for receiving monies from random internet weirdos.

Isn’t the real payoff getting noticed and hired by Big Tech?

MSFT?

GOOG?

EA?

Steam?

I feel like you have to just eat the upfront cost and hope for a big payday at the end (signing bonus)

>> No.19406416

fantom.finance is going to support stablecoins. The purpose of COTI here is to allow the interaction of the stablecoins and the fiat currencies in peoples bank accounts

It's better than NANO because people can pay you in real-world currencies if they want.

>> No.19406595

>>19406523
fantom.finance is being released at the end of Q2 this year (end of June).

I think they are focused most on fLend so that might be the only service at the beginning.

I don't know when the payments part will be released, so you might want to provide another payment option until it comes. Just keep an eye on the developments at https://fantom.foundation , it'll be a big announcement when it happens

Second for Brave/BAT. Has to be one of the simplest ways to garner cryptocurrency payments or "tips" in the whole cryptocurrency field.

If you use Brave you can simply donate or tip right through the browser. At the moment it's only BAT (basic attention token) but I think they're constantly working towards a blockchain agnostic ecosystem. Not sure about Nano tipping.

You wouldn't be able to redeem tips with either, as the fees would be more than the tip itself. NANO is one of the few that you could accept tips with in any amount due to the lack of fees. The problem however is adoption. Like BTC, this will happen over time, however I think the breaking point will likely come sooner, and a lot more violently when it does, due to the significant advantages the NANO protocol possesses.

>>19410086
My IP is likely different since I am phone posting (temp banned from giving away a bunch of nano actually), but same person. I actually just need someone experienced with php, css, javascript, as well as wordpress and the nano RPC code, so I can convert a few websites to be crypto friendly. I am focusing on NANO due its obvious advantages, but would like to also include Monero and BTC as well. I have quite a few projects in the works that could potentially change the game, not just for Nano but for crypto in general. I prefer to keep these projects under tight lip for the time being however. I have about 10 years of biz experience and have analyzed some key fault points with the current financial system, how the banks regulate new types of businesses and commerce, and how crypto can provide a solution, with NANO and XMR being the ideal choices.

More people use brave than there are people that use bitcoin monthly. You are over here looking for nano donations when BAT donations are possible with a single click on github. They are also releasing the SKU soon. You are going to fail dude. Theres maybe four good replies in this whole thread. Set up your paypal, patreon, brave donation systems and then pick one or two cryptos you accept donations in. For the crypto donations you should be looking for cryptosimps. Nano is full of cryptosimps but you will have to beg on their reddit, they wont find you in the wild.
