When you talk about materials, understand that different materials suit different chips for different markets (consumer vs defense) or uses. For the consumer market, all of the other alternatives are too costly (or suffer from technical challenges) right now except for germanium or silicon-germanium alloys. Point being, I don't blame bobos for making a case to short. The question is how will the situation be allowed to play out, given its magnitude and what we've seen so far. We're already seeing financial media outlets reporting on the divide between Main Street and Wall Street. I can easily see that becoming a talking point during the election, in which case new ATHs might be a hindrance. All of which is more fuel for the flame.
