You WILL make it. I'm also a leaf, hence my mapley stack in the thread pic.

Your silver is amazing - I only have 50oz of silver maples. I went big on gold because of how bullish the Bank of America is on it (their 18 month projection is $3,000/oz), plus just learning stuff from Jim Rickards, Schiff, using my brain, etc etc.

Silver is for sure undervalued, and also more fun due to its volatility.

What do you frens think about the fact JPMorgan made the biggest injection of paper silver in history on the COMEX last week with a record of 23 millions oz of paper?
The banksters injected a total of 55M paper oz for the month of may, it's on scales never seen before (and ofc they didn't added a single oz of physical reserve to back it up in the LMBA).

The speculation is that they weren't snapping it all up to corner the market for themselves, but acting as a buyer for an entity that has the ability to store such a colossal volume securely and also has the pockets to sit on the metal for over a decade without trying to profit on it in that time.

I'm also really interested in figuring out pic related. A gold stockpile that is over 3x the supposed amount of gold ever mined. And it was getting moved around like the money pile in a stash house in 20 $30 trillion stripes. How the fuck is this even possible?

This is clearly some (((illumined))) money, but there can only be THIS much of it if:
1) They have some kind of scifi-transmutation technology capable of making gold.
2) They were the first to find new world archeology sites, stripped them bare, then covered them up to keep their gold off the mined record.

Either way its absolutely nuts.

So, another thing I do to slowly build my stack (especially with Constitutional) is search bank-rolled coins. I'll get a box at a time of half dollars, and see if any silver came in it. You don't always find anything (and I'm on a dry streak at the moment), but considering the zombies that dump off their grandfather's collection, there's real possibility for big gains for face value.

Since I'm a fan of that kind of treasure hunting, I also watch streams on Jewtube where they do the same thing. They'll even do free giveaways sometimes, and you can add to your stack for completely free with a bit of luck. Again, not all the time, and usually going to be in small amounts, but still a good way to drop your DCA. I like to put it as 'Cheap stacking ain't fast, and fast stacking ain't cheap'.

Still, if you're interested, troll around JT and take a look.

>>19390022
>Plat is fine.
Uh, slightly disagree. Yes, silver is for gaming the G:S ratio, but getting Pt is also attempted gaming the ratio in a different way.

Used to be that platinum was worth more per troy ounce than gold, and there's much less of it mined. Not sure why the ratio changed like it did, but if there's a resurgence of interest in metals, I expect platinum to go up quickly. That said, the key word there is IF. I'm not a Nostradamus, nor am I even a 'trained financial expert'. I'm just a common person with my eyes open and observing what's going on.

I won't recommend platinum to anyone that's not already at least an ounce times silver:gold ratio deep in their stack already (AKA: GMI), and I'll always qualify it as being speculative and for diversification only.

I think its more likely that there were very early settlers that came here, then BECAME advanced for their time. At least they advanced way faster than all their peers around the rest of the world. I feel like this theory is probably going to be getting 'mainstream' buy in within this coming decade. The idea that the first new worlders were all out of asia already is out of fashion in archeological circles.

Its a lot of guess work though. I mean if you killed 99.9% of the people on earth, then you time traveled 25000-30000 to the future, the only obvious ruins in America would probably be Mt. Rushmore and the Hoover Dam. The point relevant to this thread is that if they did manage to gather easy to find gold mostly above ground, how would we know? They wouldn't have money, you cant make a golden axe head, its pure ornament for people barely out of a stone age. It probably got buried with their corpse.

Shit, even in our pioneer era proper steel tool heads could be almost as expensive as gold if you were far enough from civilization.

>>19391532
I think you misunderstand a little bit. I see nothing wrong with playing the ratio, especially understanding that it's been pushed down, and this disconnect we're seeing between paper and physical is the pressure starting to blow that lid. Sometime soon, that pressure can't be held down with the hands available, and that's when physical silver holders can cash in on gold.

Silver's current low entry point makes it great for us poorfags to still have a decent store of wealth, but we have to bet on that lid blowing. We'll make it in that case if our stack's large enough, but we'll still have to work a bit when it does after we cash in for gold.

Gold is what everyone should get, and if you can store enough away at once, go here first and then into silver or platinum. Silver should be used speculatively if you can get gold, as you're betting on being able to buy more gold cheaply in the future. Sure, the poorfags win too in this situation, but you've still got more gold in the end, so you're still winning bigger.

TL;DR: Gold is always the end goal, but silver is a good path to it if the ratio returns to historic levels, and for some, the only path to gold.

Just had some fun building portfolios. Silver seems to be one of the single worst assets you can possibly add (long) to a portfolio because its correlation matrix is simply horrible. A long/short Gold/Silver pair on the other hand seems to do really well:

Basically, the issue is that silver has a positive correlation with literally everything. Stocks, bonds, gold, crypto, etc etc.

Given that most of those are anticorrelated to each other, I'm surprised that such a terrible combination of correlations is even mathematically possible. It's only saving grace is that it is sufficiently strongly correlated to gold, so that the long/short gold/silver pair is less volatile than gold or silver.

A lot of people are falling for the panic dollar collapse meme.

To be fair they could be right in the medium to long term, but for the next six months to a year at least, if anything we’re probably looking at a very strong dollar and weak PM prices.

Don’t get me wrong I love PMs and do ultimately buy into the PMs are real money cash is trash thing, but anyone who thinks they NEED to get into PMs NOW is probably mistaken. This whole fiscal situation the US and the world is in could take years to fully unravel.

I’m not even sure if it ever will because it’s not always a good idea to bet against the Fed. There’s a possibility it will be more of the same, shitty high but not paradigm-changing price inflation that is still low enough that fiat limps along indefinitely.

As another anon and I have been discussing, you can use BullionVault to buy gold, silver, and platinum. The metals you buy through BullionVault are stored in vaults and are owned in your name. The storage fees for gold are exceptionally low (0.12%/year with a minimum of $4/month) and the fees for platinum and silver are higher (0.48%/year with a minimum of $8/month).

It's probably not a good idea to buy silver and platinum through BullionVault if you don't have thousands of dollars to invest since you'll be paying a minimum of $96/year for storage fees.

You can also buy precious metals through various ETFs such as GLD, PHYS, PSLV, CEF, etc. However, for the Sprott products, be aware that the fees are higher than BullionVault although you probably won't notice because they take their fees from the NAV of the funds. I wouldn't be surprised if GLD has higher fees than BullionVault, too.

They are good for two reasons:

1) They generally keep pace with inflation especially over the long term. Sure they sometimes go down temporarily too, but with PMs you're basically secured against shitty financial policy. People always want PMs end of story, so if you have enough PM's you've insured yourself against poverty generally speaking but also bad monetary policy, bank failures, and both extreme Happenings and shitty trends generally.

2) PMs while liquid aren't as liquid as fiat currency to the extent that you cannot use them to buy goods directly at least at the moment. This is generally a bad thing, but is good to the extent that it puts up a barrier to you spending it. I find it's a lot easier to save a lot more with PMs than currency for this reason.

There's also the downside:

1) Holding physical PMs presents a theft risk.

2) If you don't know what you're doing, you can get burned by premiums, by actual scam-artists, etc. You can minimize this by being AWARE of exactly what you're buying. Buy fun stuff too if you want, but be aware that that's exactly what it is. You'll probably end up ahead in savings anyway, but try to at least buy mostly vaguely sensible stuff to reduce what's going out on premiums.

If you find it hard to avoid falling for the collector/numismatic meme, here are some ideas to scratch that itch while not paying too much:

1) Buy nice, but cheap coins. Philharmonics look great, I never feel disappointed for buying them, but they are also one of the cheapest new 1oz silver coins out there.

2) Buy constitutional. The premiums on them are starting to go up, but you can actually get Roosevelt dimes and Kennedy half-dollars for reasonable prices depending on where you look.

3) Buy big. Obviously depending on your situation you don't necessarily want to have a big lump of something that's hard to sell, but I think getting a big bar is a great way to get lots of metal cheap. Some of them look great too.
