The administration cost for the plethora of plans in the United States is a huge factor in driving prices up. If we went to universal healthcare the reduction in administration costs alone would be huge. Not to mention that the government, unlike other countries, refuses to negotiate the price of drugs with companies and instead lets the taxpayer get kiked.
