The reason it dropped has been laid out time and time again. CV was a trigger, nothing more. Regarding the market, we're about to see a slight reprieve as states ease lock-down protocols and allow movement to begin/resume but we will never return to 'normal' as they say... Within six to eight weeks following 'business as usual' (assume early to mid July) we'll see a rapid increase in infections and deaths from RONA to the extent that they will be forced to implement a second and more aggressive lock-down in all areas... rona has a feature which is specific that allows it to accumulate via exposure and eventually kill you. It's not like the flu where you get it once, bounce back, and are done with it. It's now taking the young. Also, it spreads like wildfire in every climate including isolated, low-density desert towns. This virus is fucking phenomenal.

All the above being said, what we have right now is an attempt to ease public aggression by allowing people a last breath before submerging them again indoors. There will be much more hurt and pain, especially as wall-street becomes entirely disconnected from main-street. All this talk now about the 'US economy recovering well' is a rhetorical spin to coverup the stark reality for the unemployed masses with no safety net as massive subsidizes are being given to unprofitable and unproductive corporations which will hoard this cash to the detriment of society and jobs will not be coming back for years.

We're seeing basically the restructuring of American (and global) consumerism and day to day life fast-forward at a magnitude of five...

This will be worse than 9/11 in regards to civil liberties...

The market hasn't really begun to hurt either... Expect more pain to come.

I think the timeline will be slightly accelerated, to within June as opposed to July, but otherwise that all seems very plausible. I'm not sure the extent to which states will try to implement large-scale quarantines, as opposed to regional ones isolated to hot-spots seeing CV resurgence, at least at first. If R_0 spikes and it becomes completely un-contained, and we see an overwhelmed healthcare system, then I think they would make the move to state-wide quarantines again. Based on the past month, I think governors will be hesitant to go full-quarantine unless there were no other alternatives. I doubt markets will remain disconnected for much longer, maybe a month or so, but Q2 data, a continued lack of forward guidance, and deteriorating economic conditions on Main Street will begin to take their toll, as usual.
