Why should I care if small businesses fail when minimum wage goes up?

The federal minimum wage hasn't gone up for 11 years. That's 11+ YEARS of small businesses and corporations alike benefiting from low wages. The way I see it is minimum wage should have been going up a few cents every couple of years anyway, so it's basically like they had 11 whole years to save as much money as they could.

Should I really feel bad for entrepreneur eddy?

to add to this, it's fun watching coastal states over correct by implementing high minimum wages. people just one rung up the ladder are realizing just how shit their wages are.

Why be an EMT for $18 an hour when you can work the register at wal-mart for $15?

Yes you should, And instead of raising the minimum wage you should instead fix what is raising the price of goods at incredibly high levels. I'll give you a hint, it's the fellows with the big noses down in Washington D.C., A separate country legally according to congress from America.

Minimum wage should be abolished. Fuck off poor fag. If you were worth more you'd be paid more.

I would rather work for 15/h as a chemist (my current job) than for 20/h as a Walmart cashier.

lol no you wouldn't. in that bizarro world you would see brainless cashiers paying rent and buying houses for literally having a pulse. you would go mad after a few years of finical frustration. also you're willingness to stay employed with unfair wages is what gives you unfair wages in the first place

once minimum wage gets close to middle classer jobs, like emts, receptionists, etc we are going to see those workers blame the minimum wagers for making their job "worth less" instead of blaming the corps for keeping their wages low in the first place

the class warfare is going to be great these 20 years desu

I think minimum wage should be lowered. They always bag my items in a stupid way or stack the ingredients in my mcdonalds double Cheeseburger with less coordination that a preschooler, or forget items entirely. They are slow to answer the phone and even slower or sometimes unable to answer any questions. I don't understand why they feel entitled to more money when they can't even handle the absolute basement of skill and knowledge level jobs. It's very telling about a person when they are no longer in their teens but they still work minimum wage jobs. There is no way in hell these people are worth $7.25/hr. Honestly we'd be better off just putting such people in jail because they'll never amount to anything, we're already paying for their gibs through taxes so the least they can do is keep such undesirables out of sight and away from contact with good people.

Minimum wage doesn't help anyone who can't help themselves. The price of everything a person NEEDS falls in accordance to the employment rate, as marginal returns on investment are able to correctly calibrate supply levels.

A floor on wages implies a floor on prices, and that ONLY hurts the people you're trying to help. Doesn't hurt the wealthy investors one bit.

if you truly want minimum wages to go up you would be better off deporting the 20 million illegals who are unskilled labor and directly competing with US citizens for them

the minimum wage goes up because thats the new minimum wage as appropriated for inflation.

So what happens when the rich states implement $15/hr but poor states hover around $8/hr? Essentially, with double wages, I would expect inflation to be stronger in $15/hr states. But then, since we all use the same fiat, won’t $15/hr MW in California cause inflation in a $8/hr state like Georgia?

Basically, are $15/hr states fucking it up for other states by inflating the common currency?

I haven't had a minimum wage job since I was literally 18. Even Walmart paid me above minimum wage. You would have to be 100% useless to society to have a minimum wage job.

Yes, it's been 11 years since the federal minimum wage has increased. Look what's happened since.
>Fastest wage growth for low-income workers in 20 years (prior to covid-19)
>States raising minimum wages
>Tight labor market forcing companies like McDonalds to pay above state minimums (prior to covid-19)
It's almost as if we don't need the federal minimum wage and the free market + state governments can handle it on their own.
But, you're a commie faggot, so you'd never understand.

That's already happening you retard. The cost of living in California is already significantly higher anywhere else.
