I believe ARK is still one of the easiest blockchain projects for developers to get into because of the modular plug-in system and it's written in TypeScript/JavaScript which has low barriers of entry. Should make adoption easier in theory but we haven't seen much adoption, unfortunately.

On the communication front, yes they are definitely better now than they were in 2017.

As far as I know nothing about their vision has changed. They're still aiming for Core 3.0 as their main goal. Hope more partnerships and adoptions after the Core code stabilizes but that's what everybody thought for AIP11 (Core 2.6) too so we'll see.
