What are you talking about, anon? They just announced an expanded partnership with XRP, and they're also going to start rolling out XRP-powered ATMs soon. Are you trying to say that a banking consortium that manages 5 billion in assets, and is a former subsidiary of Softbank, is small time or something? Why is the FUD so fucking bad these days?

XRP is trying to capture a rapidly growing 1 trillion dollar remittance market, and that's just the icing on the cake. Their real goal is to become the standard for the exchange of central bank distributed coins. We're talking about XRP replacing swift, and being the bridge for tens of trillions of dollars. When you see the big picture, you realize that XRP's current marketcap is still extremely small. I cannot stress enough that this project is not for low IQ gamblers who are addicted to charts like a teenage girl is addicted to tweets. This is for iron hands investors, who are prepared to hold for 5-10 years. You either have faith in the project, or you don't. From my own research, I have faith.

Except it won’t accomplish that goal. Not with crypto’s notorious volatility, why would a bank even consider holding XRP for transfers when they can wake up to it being down 10%? It’s literally cheaper to just pay fees to convert your USD, and you take all the risk out of the equation, cause even on it’s worse day USD might lose 1%. The natural enemy of crypto is volatility, making it terrible for banking. Crypto has a ton of uses, but this is pipe dream.

Taking all of that aside, let’s say they could succeed, at what % possibility do you see it happening? If you even dare say 1% or plus you are delusional. If it goes to a $1tr market cap, that will be (rounded for brainless) 1000x your investment. Meaning you need to believe that there is a .1% chance of;
A) Banking industry as a whole adopting crypto to transfer money internationally.
B) XRP being the best coin to do it at that time (you said yourself 5-10 years)
C) Banks not using 100+ different coins to do this, maybe even each bank having its own coin ect.

If you can look in the mirror and say to yourself that this has a significantly higher than .1% chance of accomplishing all 3 of those things in the next decade. You deserve to lose your money. The actual odds are probably significantly less, and since this is already a large cap coin, all risk is to the downside in the next 5 years.

> It’s literally cheaper to just pay fees to convert your USD, and you take all the risk out of the equation,
Your whole argument is premised on a lie, dude. XRP has already been shown to save substantial amounts of money in cross border remittances. Look to Moneygram's recent Q4 report if you don't believe me. Meanwhile, banks like BOA, SBI and Santander continue to expand their partnerships with XRP. These are just facts of reality.
>Volatility
No shit crypto is volatile, but do you seriously think it's going to remain like that forever? Regulation is coming, and it's coming en masse. And guess who has been at the forefront of being compliant with regulations?

>> No.19212539

>>19212462
It is literally cheaper long term to pay the fees than to hold XRP due to high volatility, banks want less risk not more. Yeah banks are ducking with it a bit, that’s why it’s a trillion dollar cap.? What’s your argument?

>> No.19212557

>>19212369
Also, I'd like to point out another thing. XRP doesn't have to be the "best" coin to do it. The first mover advantage is very real in this sphere. SWIFT has been operating on 1950s era tech up until the recent ISO 20022 mandates. XRP is securing important partnerships, and entrenching itself within the global financial system. It will be very hard for newer projects to compete with them years down the line, and that's assuming that these projects actually offer a better product.

>> No.19212562

Yes the transactions save money, but you lose money from holding the coin lmao. So you still lose money

You still haven't explained why you think high volatility is going to be here forever. It's not. You still haven't directly addressed actual companies stating that XRP is saving them millions each quarter. You just made a statement with no evidence and expect me to take your word for it, fuck you.
>>19212369
>C) Banks not using 100+ different coins to do this, maybe even each bank having its own coin ect.
You realize the World Economic Forum recently mentioned XRP as a potential solution to cross-CBDC commerce, right? It's already mentioned here. >>19209095

Nope. Please find me actual evidence that shows moneygram is 'still losing money" when they just said it was saving them millions. You don't just get to say shit and not provide evidence, that isn't how this fucking works.

Dude you can’t assume crypto now will be crypto then, you have to picture the day when btc, whales and chinks don’t determine price.
Large caps will be decoupled from btc and if xrp did have that level of adoption there will be no high level dumping, the cap would be so big you couldn’t really have much volatility.
