Remember there are more important things in life, like family. They should always come first. They're the ones who were there before you made it and will be there for you if it all comes tumbling down. If you or one of them died tomorrow, it wouldnt matter how much money you had. While true filial relations /also/ require a fair bit of money for optimal function.
There's a shitton of things I'd like to buy them or support them in but presently can't, which makes me a weak point in the family.
Sure, love is nice, but the ultimate purpose of family is as a focal point for power and I'm under an implicit obligation to do my part.

Well my dad died after cheating on my mom and left us almost nothing. Died of autoerotic asphyxia. Now I'm home dealing with my bpd mom who is currently throwing a fit because she can't handle anything at all, and when I told her to fall the bank because I can't do anything about his personal accounts with this bank because she was apparently also the holder. She said she did, so I told her I'd call the lawyer.

Now I'm home and she is breaking down, going through his old phone to find more dirt, sending the nudes of his mistress to his coworkers, and generally doing nothing but making my life more miserable as estate rep. And this is why I moved away and never visit.

"Family" only means anything when your family isn't fucking psychotic
