I grew up in a poor ghetto and was feverishly jealous of my friends in suburbs. Big, clean houses, big lawns, safe streets, and friends roaming about, it's pretty much the most any common man could ever hope for.

I'm not suggesting that ghetto life is good in any way, shape or fashion. Living in a poor apartment building saps someone of their dignity. The suburbs are a different kind of animal. You have a certain degree of dignity that isn't present in the ghetto, but it is a managed kind of dignity that is imposed upon in a way that life on something like an estate in the country is not.
