Their technology are two of the PRIMARY visual display components in the hololens 2.
They have over 500 patents related to last display and micro imaging and >20 years of experience in a field every tech manufacturer will be moving to (AR and VR).

Many manufacturers are looking to micro LED displays. But micro lasers get something like 100x the resolution...which is crucial when display is so close to eye.

Microsoft has to license this tech through them.
If they get bought out by another company, this will put the hololens 2 in jeopardy.

A meaningful use case (read: profitable application of the tech) does not exist yet for augmented reality devices like the hololens. You're going to have to show me more than a single chip in a niche device for me to buy this over other industries right now that I could 3x on in under two weeks.
