IT security expert here. Personally speaking I read the white paper and it is O.K.. There is nothing wrong with it however we might face some issues.

Since it should be developed by the community, Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-Interactive Argument of Knowledge needs a ton of maintenance. But GHOST will then basically invent new coins over time. Exactly 6 new GHOST per block and distributes these to masternodes and stakers (I think some also to devs, but this can be voted on by masternodes). So everyday a couple of new GHOST will be created, same like with Bitcoin with the miner rewards. Only difference is that with proof of stake, the miners are basically the master nodes and the stakers. It works a little different, but is faster and more energy efficient.
