That guy was right and your numbers confirm. When you bet on earnings you are not only betting that company will beat and their nav will be good, but also that the chart moves in a bullish way on that good news. I'd like to say the only thing certain about earnings day price action is volatility but you can't even have that. It could be dead flat you don't know.

From what I have gathered in light reading so far, straddle in to earnings strat is most stable if you plan to sell the straddle a day or two PRIOR to the actual earnings release; say you buy ten or fifteen trading days out from earnings, sell couple days before earnings. It gets more hairy if you're holding it through earnings announcement to hit the big potential move.

Tech'll hit a roadblock when everyone is poor as shit, than the fat bitch'll sink to the ocean floor.
Once people start cashing out of tech it'll be an unstoppable force.
And if the Government is Giving out unlimited QE, there is no repercussions to selling. Just sell, buy back in and ride it back up.

A lot of Amazon's stuff is cheap Chinese stuff, and I could see them getting pretty bootyblasted by America's new distaste for chinese goods.
Not to mention how Amazon is piggybacking off the USPS, and how Trump doesn't like that.
It might be largely automated, but that doesn't make it bulletproof.

I've certainly changed my shopping habits and started avoiding Chinese goods, as well as shopping around through smaller websites.
They're actually really good with shipping, surprisingly! Stuff comes quick and is high quality, and I'm really happy that all it took to expand my shopping horizons was a global pandemic

There has always been a big push by government for big industry, and now Big Industry is saddled with the demand of All of America.
That's a lot to dump on its plate and will prove to be a major trial by fire.

I don't think- with time and sickness- that they'll last through the entirety of this.

>why does he keep him around?
It's not up to him to decide you dumdum. Do you really think Drumpf have any kind of power behind the curtains? He's just one of many nouveaux riches obeying the old anglo-saxon aristocracy : the old families like the Harriman, Bundy, Russell, Taft or Schiff.
He's just a lackey trying to fit in, helping them with his money in exchange of a place under the sun for his dynasty.
Fauci probably have a lot more real power than Trump, even though he's himself just a pawn. It's not that hard to figure out. Just look at Fauci's wiki page ffs :
>Fauci has served American public health in various capacities for over 50 years, and has been an advisor to every U.S. president since Ronald Reagan.
Special advisor since Reagan, no matter the political colors, always pushing the neomalthusian agenda.

>He then went to the College of the Holy Cross, graduating in 1962 with a Bachelor of Arts
It's a Jesuit college, the oldest of new england.

>In 1984, he became director of NIAID, a position he still holds as of 2020.[4] In that role he has the responsibility for an extensive research portfolio.
Almost 40 years at the head of the infectious diseases and allergy dept, while being also in 10 others positions (NIH, LCI, etc..), pretty efficient dude if you ask me, where do he find the time?

>has been at the forefront of U.S. efforts to contend with viral diseases like HIV, SARS, the 2009 swine flu pandemic, MERS, Ebola and COVID-19.[11]
All the lab-made kike diseases with overblown media coverage.

>He played a significant role in the early 2000s in creating the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief[12] and in driving development of biodefense drugs and vaccines following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Here we go : not a doc, but a policy maker piloting the gov public health policies and laws.

>While there have been disagreements, Trump has also praised Fauci
Usual hegelian dychotomy bullshit : thesis, antithesis, synthesis

Not at all, without the bail-outs and printing machines the markets would have almost died. kek, I ain't worried about the debt. Why? Cause before the virus the u.s debt was over 1 trillion. People bitched, congress bitched but no one did anything about it. Then the virus came. In an eye blink they (congress/fed) started tossing out money bags like it was candy. Enough to cover the previous debt 2 times over (or more). If they were that concerned about the debt, they'd merely toss out more money. Cause the currency isn't backed by any physical thing anymore, like gold. So they can print money at will, which they've done already.

Debt can be a mess though, it's such a multidimensional thing
Federal gov being in debt (treasury) means that they will want to keep interest rates low for the next couple decades.
Then companies, who are already in debt, will have no incentive to improve their balance sheets much, just keep them in good enough shape to maintain credit rating

We're putting the country in a position where we are going to have a hard time dealing with "normal" problems; hurricanes, earthquakes, droughts, social unrest, and especially China

The next fifty years are going to be interesting, and there is a lot of RNG at play. If China has more natural+man made disasters than the US, it will be ok for us, but if it goes the other way it could get rough for us. They're in debt too, but we'd be in a much better position if our country had a balance sheet like JNJ

also the debt was way over 1T into 2020, not sure where you're getting that number, and the money printed by the fed cannot be used to pay of the debt of the federal government. Nobody knows what the fuck is going on, or is going to happen. There's a dozen different hypotheses floating around publicly, but the world has never seen anything like this.

What we can surmise is that cashflow has been tangibly disrupted. PCE is down twice what it was during the GFC, and at record pace. Naturally retail is down alongside it. Consumer confidence shrinking, too. REITs, overleveraged, are going to get fucked. Small business and many holdings companies involved with the hospitality industry are going to bleed - especially if they "operate" under reduced capacity. There's also tons of companies that absolutely require cashflow, and it's virtually gone at the moment. Big and unpredictable cascades on the way.

Now consider emerging markets: massive dollar denominated debts while demand for the dollar soars. That means they have a harder time maintaining the debts, meanwhile they might['ve] necessarily opt[ed] to shutdown. Now, if you consider how reliant the US socioeconomic strata is formulated you realize that we're cost-dependent on EM function. To maintain probable pricing here we're dependent on the people in EM's undervaluing their time and resources to make sure we can afford the shit we import. Moreover the shit we export increases in cost with the strength of the dollar. Failing business in EMs are going to injure the US, and so will decreased appeal in USD exports.

Italy which was the epicenter of the virus is now allowing in and out international travel staeting on the third of June.

Is it too early to put money back into Airbus/Boeing?

What happens then is not relevant to the politicians in Europe

>Germany has vowed to start decommissioning every nuclear power facility by the end of 2022. Operators began shutting down the Philippsburg nuclear power plant in southern Germany on Tuesday, as the country puts into motion its plan to begin decommissioning all 17 of its atomic energy facilities by the end of 2022(Dec 2019)
I believe it.

What's the logic behind putting into Airbus/Boeing right now? There's no shortage of planes already built that can be used for travel.
Even if they wanted to restart production right now and had customers the supply chain isn't in good shape. Even auto manufacturers, who have much less complex systems, are having trouble coordinating their supply chains.

People got scared because nuclear power equals mushroom clouds.
Also getting Chinese solar panels with mercury or coal plants up and running is better for the environment than uranium.

On second thought it might actually be desperate coal miners convincing the people that coal is better than nuclear. Damn...

The "natural Uranium" US import value is USD $149m. They also import U-235 from NA but in smaller values (USD $185k). Primarily they import enriched Uranium from Russia. Germany accounts for 8.2% of global natural Uranium imports. 7.2% of global U-235. Something to watch, I guess.
