Nothingburger. They filed this in 2018 (it takes that long for patents to be processed) back before they found out how manipulated the crypto markets are, and before the big crash in 2019. They filed this back when the hypetrain was in full effect. Everyone I know who works in CC says that all crypto projects are dead, never going to ship. I've also been told that patents like this were all based on the hope that Congress would evolve the tax rules and regulations on crypto, which didn't happen - Visa having to record and pay taxes on their transactions would destroy their business.
