Also bigger companies care even if you have 100 years of experience but no degree because they don't do a whole-profile evaluation, rather they evaluate by stages. Recruitment/algorithms checks quals (basically degree and keywords), then HR checks experience + degree vs checkbox-tier requirements, then someone technical checks again to screen for bullshittery, finally it's 5 stages of interviews.

I passed on the college scam. I'm glad I did. No fucking loans to pay off. Or bullshit to put up with. Did get a few certs though. A+, Network+. Before they screwed them over with the expiration shit. Mine's valid for life. Now I work a state job. Benefits and pension & a 401k both. Can legit retire after 11 more years with a full pension/medical. Be under age 50. Currently working from home getting paid in full to watch training videos during this virus shit. I'm screwing the state and they're letting me do it. No VPN access to any company server either cause I'm not that retarded nor stupid. I simply log in to a website to watch the videos and submit my time.

Don't know why Americans put up with this shit. Yeah, sure make all the Canada jokes you want, but I learnt a lot of good shit and my profs were challenging as fuck. I am currently working in SoCal making good money and easily out-performing all the UCSD, Berkeley, CalState 4.0 clowns we've hired.

The only American Universities worth a damn in my experience is UCLA, Purdue and UC Wisconsin Madison. EVERY engineer / business student I have worked with from there have been universally excellent and first rate.
