You're right, more like a dollar or less. Futures price does not equal real life price, don't be stupid. It is paper trading until the day of expiration based on the non-paper contracts dealing with actual deliveries and how much is willingly paid for them. Hint, a month or so back while oil was trading over 30 still a barrel at the same time you could pick up a real barrel in real life for 4 dollars. And another hint, price is determined by supply and demand and even if demand has increased....supply has increased even more. I won't even say "negative oil!", I will just say no one in their dreams is paying the current price for actual product right now.

USO won't disappear, it is just a VERY long term hold. Even if oil goes negative, USO is trading August and above, mostly far ahead. Which won't go negative. USO may tank a good deal more, but it will stay alive somehow still. I wouldn't be afraid of my money being gone forever in it anymore, but I would fear for how long it would take to profit more than a regular investment.
