Currently majoring in urban planning at uni (top 3 program in the country). Starting to realize the field is pretty cucked and you either waste away in a pencil pushing permit government job with little job growth or opportunities. Hated STEM and despite my dad being engineern I was pretty autistic when it came to Math.

What is the best path to becoming a real estate developer? Should I pursue a joint urban planning real estate development and MBA program at my uni or save money and gain experience through shadowing? Or should I say fuck it and enter a trade like surveying?

Start in brokerage. Learn argus enterprise, get certified and apply. All the connections you can make in brokerage if you’re at a big firm will help you become a developer.
