There’s a cryptocurrency quietly putting out a new whitepaper that you all probably don’t know about yet. Frankly I didn’t know about it either until about a month ago, but everything I’ve read about it has led me to believe this is going to be one of the top 10 cryptocurrencies at some point in 2021-2022. Let me tell you about Proton (XPR).

To understand why Proton is a big deal, first you need to take a step back and think about how traditional finance is done. Everything you buy requires that you hand over all of your personal information: credit card numbers, bank accounts numbers, billing information, mailing addresses, you get the picture. We’ve seen countless instances where this has led to disaster - data breaches, malicious employees, etc. But as it stands today, you can’t buy anything without giving up your personal info. It’s a no-win situation.

>How does Proton fix this?
By creating a unique @name system (kind of like an email address), every person will have one “identity” that is used to send, receive, and charge transactions. All a vendor sees is your @name, nothing else - you have absolute control over what transactions are approved and which transactions aren’t. We already do custodial information systems - like giving your personal info to JC Penny’s or Chase Bank. Proton makes it to where way, way fewer companies see your info.

There’s another issue plaguing commerce that Proton addresses, too. Moving “money” from one form to another is incredibly costly. Think about it: you own ETH, and you want to use that to buy some takeout? If the restaurant doesn’t accept ETH, you have to pay fees to convert that ETH to dollars, a process that takes time, too. It’s even worse when trying to convert one fiat currency into another fiat currency.

>How does Proton fix this?
Basically Proton acts as a bridge between all areas of finance. If someone wants to be paid in Japanese Yen, but you only have Bitcoin, no problem - send that Bitcoin through the Proton system, where it is wrapped and effortlessly converted. Everyone wins.

All of this is dependent on cooperation between all areas of finance/government, but the team behind Proton is already working on that. In fact, it seems like they did a lot of the leg work for that FIRST before launching their crypto - a good move in my opinion.

I know there are other crypto’s who claim to do something similar, but nothing quite like what Proton is doing. Regardless, the value of this coin is going to skyrocket in the coming 3-12 months. Right now, XPR stands at about $0.02 each. It’s not crazy to think that this coin could easily jump to $1 by EOY 2020 - before their first major partnership. Just the hype alone is enough to carry this to a quick 50x.

Once the Proton system actually becomes functional? The price will go parabolic at that point. $10 is easy to achieve by 2022; higher could happen as well. Think for a moment about what that could mean for you if you loaded up right now on XPR while the price is stupidly low.

I’m buying as much as I can. I hope you are, too. I’d love nothing more than for this entire board to become multimillionaires, leaving the rest of the world wondering how they missed the boat.

Yeah that sounds great and all, but where can I buy it? It's not on Binance, not on Coinbase, not where any of the normies go.

I'm glad I asked. Currently available here:
>Metal Pay
>Hanbitco
>Bithumb
>HitBTC
>Bilaxy
>Exrates
>EtherFlyer
I've heard rumors that a Binance listing is in the works, too.

Bithumb is actually a very old and established crypto exchange - definitely one of the most popular in South Korea.

I looked this up on twitter yesterday and every account shilling it without exception was a fucking pajeet.

If it’s connected to protonmail then I will unironically buy. I love their services

Yeah their Discord got raided by a bunch of Indians who don't understand anything. It's to be expected for any crypto that promises so much at such a low entry point.
>most of them are too dumb to figure out how to buy any though

Not sure if they're connected to that at all. I know they're trying to be very privacy focused, but I think that may just be coincidence.

I’m starting to buy into the hype.

No word of a link to ProtonMail but they seem to be linked to Metal (MTL)

>> No.19078944

Metal seemed like a cool enough product, just looks like they had the poor fortune of entering the market right at the top in 2017. If they can make it through this they should be solid.
Also, they are merging with Lynx, which looks like an absolutely solid team of devs.

The problem is that no one can pay their restaurant bill in ETH even if they wanted to. As you say this is dependent on cooperation between all areas of finance. This is the crux and the largest hurdle. It's not just this minor detail that needs to be resolved, it's the entire point. It would require a monumental paradigm shift. And so, importantly, why can this little altcoin do what no one else can?

Regarding the anonymity, how is the @ any different from an ETH wallet? If I theoretically paid my restaurant bill in ETH with my current ETH wallet - how are they seeing anything more than my ETH public address?
