Not a big meme line guy, but it looks like signal line for XLE and XTN has crossed the MACD today. They're way overextended and have been due for a correction, I wouldn't be surprised if we retest April 20th lows. Algos are going to start puking up shares and buying tankers.

And as we all know the fundamentals have lined up perfectly this week for a huge surge.

Overall the tea leaves are telling me bullish next two weeks for tankers.

Cushing is full, saudis are here, demand is going to be even lower than expected, iraq's not cutting, futures are expiring, and nobody knows who's buying them, with nobody having any storage to share onshore. How would it not moon? Oh wait, clown market.

Taking notes:

>Deutchze bank analyst recommended EURN to go private; markets not giving them a fair shake
> EURN has one of the best balance sheets and fleets in whole energy sector; has unfathomable cash buffer
>STNG CEO to stop buying or selling calls; perceived as damaging confidence prior
>CEO's mother purchased 2million in stocks, have had a strong record of buying and selling at the right time
>STNG higher risk reward than EURN, but confident that they'll do well for next few years; trading below 50% NAV
>No buybacks in near future, but "meaningful" debt reductions incoming
>STNG focused on weathering potentially turbulent market conditions, will make massive Q2 cash off LR2's 150k/month rate. ( Can have lr2 do 1 voyage per year at this rate and still turn profit)
>STNG has a practically new fleet; in global recession, they're at huge advantage
>STNG CEO considering releasing monthly info to educate shareholders, public misinformed about STNG and tankers. (Tankers ARE NOT INVERSE WTI, but is traded as such. Industry is extremely complicated)
>Bear case: Rates won't stay high forever, ships will be idle. demand will be destroyed in future, Bull response: valuations already very low, near bottoms of BEFORE tanker rates skyrocketed, Q12020 225 million profit with market cap of 2 billion. Debt load 1.6 billion, 1 billion in LIQUIDITY. Ridiculous numbers not valued in yet.
>Future disruptions not priced in that could potentially spike cashflows again. Watch for oil glut on 19th of next 3 months at the very least.

> Oil demand is consumption
> Tanker demand is function of oil exports, not a function of oil demand
>Cushing drawn recently, Oil exports spiked
>Data points to people aren't driving, oil not being consumed
>Saudi Arabia cuts production, but what matters is their export number
>Not refining domestically, shipping oil out for revenue
> Calvin BTFO in January, made all of it back in march
> Dry docking has been put off for months due to covid, there will be a rush of everyone trying to dry dock afterwards; rates for all shipping will spike then
> Tanker industry is highly volatile and can flip on a dime due to large number of macroeconomic factors ex:
>US needs to keep domestic oil production alive, needs to export oil to stay alive. Trade war, US pressuring China to honour their agreement to accept more oil. When sanctions on COSCO (China open shipping company) last year, rates spiked hard. (EURN shareprice $9-$13) during COSCO sanction
>If China doesn't accept oil, COSCO will get sanctioned again.
>Potential for tail risks still possible; Countries can shut down exports completely, but volatility is skewed for bullish case.
>Oil price artificially kept high, Strategic reserve filling, futures trading despite not wanting the physical oil
>Playing Contango long term is not smart. You want oil to be flowing between countries.
> Hedgies acting as dumb money, programmed algos that no contango = sell tankers. Beat to the punch by retail in this sector who realised sector is far more complicated, attracted by valuations too
>Calvin advises risk management: must be able to stay solvent through market irrationality, Global economic situation completely unstable, anything can happen. Again looks like early next week a buy phase. This is the big-money weighted index showing the slight increase in volume (stealth accumulation).

Yellow dildos on the ttm_squeeze getting smaller and smaller. 70% of the time this will switch to cyan dildos. 30% of the time it gets shoved back up the ass and turns red again. In that case tankerstocks will not reverse this month.

Thought I would share this one though -

DHT has their ex-dividend date on Monday.
As you all know, the dividend is .35 cents a share. 5.3% of their market cap.

The next two days, if tankers continue the pattern of today into Thursday, it's likely people will buy into this to get that divvy. If you want a quick ride, get on and get off by end of close. Hold till Monday to get your 5%.

Or, as much as we like to believe everybody is option gamblers, the vast majority of retail buyers are not. Right now, the DHT call option for 5/15 for $6 is going for .53.

Don't trust anyone using a suit.
They were the ones scrambling to book tankers for 100k a day on the 20th of April.

"We have a few oddballs left in VERY DIFFICULT LOCATION with limitation and restrictions. Those are the last ones we are currently working on with very prompt availability."
sure, that was in April 24th. But back then the May contracts weren't even being delivered.

14 reasons Reasons tanker stocks are crashing to bankruptcy

Try to stay focused on the fundamentals people (because I put the fun in fundamental get it?

1. Contango almost gone not that yall know what that means
2. Daily rates crashing to all time lows and that makes red line go down
3. Dumb money has already left and wont be back, you are dumdbererer money
4. Tanklets dont understand dividends lmao
5. Tanklets dont understand that stocks value are based on future earnings lmao x2
6. Brandon told them much of this and they didn't listen and already lost money; now mad at all Brandons, real men love brandons
7.No catalyst for rising stock price hence bankruptcy
8. 2nd qtr earnings not good not good is bad
9. 3rd qtr and beyond losses as far as you can see red line goes down
10. Excess ships will be scrapped setting stage for a weak recovery in 2027
11. When the board bagholders capitulate we will get a 30% bounce
12. Then down to zero on bankruptcy by June 2021

None of this is refutable

i guess the real question is that now that we're on the THIRD month of oil crashing on contract rollover, will more people look to get out a day early?
decline is scheduled to begin tomorrow afternoon
the weekend may play a large roll in this

in march the decline started on a tuesday and ended thursday (the rollover day)
in april it started sunday night and ended tuesday (the rollover day)
but now we've got rollover day on monday so i suppose it could actually begin this afternoon and still be consistent with that "schedule" which would give us our peak at 1pm today

>DHT reports rates of more than USD 100,000 in the second quarter

>The bottom line for the tanker operator, which is listed in New York but has Norwegian management, came to a profit of USD 72.2 million, up from a profit of USD 17.7 million in the same period 2019.

>The operating profit, EBITDA, also improved and came to a profit of USD 128.4 million against USD 64.2 million the year before.

>This income was made from a revenue of USD 221.9 million in the first three months of the year, compared to USD 132 million in the same period 2019.

>This improvement benefits the shareholders, who will receive a total of USD 51.4 million in dividends. And the boom, as expected, looks to have intensified in the second quarter, when the shipping company has recorded even higher rates.

>DHT has so far fixed 66 percent of the quarter's days in the spot market at average daily rates of USD 110,400 per day.

>The strong rates also impact the company's planned scrubber installations. So far DHT has installed the exhaust gas cleaning systems on 13 ships, while another five installations will be postponed, so that the ships can instead benefit from the booming market.

>> No.19085717

>>19085655
I think along those lines too. The only unknown I think is what it means for our tankers. They collect demurage fees while they can't unload, but that's a drop compared to regular fees. So if some of our tankers have fleets waiting to unload from march/april (as some reports state, tankers are still not able to unload since then even before the saudis arrived), they won't be able to collect as much. Conversely, if they're on the verge of finishing unloading, or better yet, if they managed to unload right before the saudis, we're in business: they'll be able to reap maximum rewards from this. I'd like data on this.

Since when didn't Bloomburg lie? Oil crisis averted...lol no. They are really hyping on that draw despite the floating fleet and things so bad that China is contemplating negative gas prices apparently.

>>19086747
Some tankers are scummy, but at the same time there is no reason to be now. Unless they are trying to give insiders working for them more shares before pump/taking advantage of divvies.

>>19086749
I am. Things are...moving up as soon as I ranted and bought. My feelings of rage might turn to joy if I just bought the bottom.

Never.

Why did the tanker stocks crash? Avg is 6-8% down.

>there is no reason to be now
not true. the longer the stock stays depressed, the more they can make off the money currently flowing in

every single day they're receiving gigantic checks and probably buying more

If you go back down now right after I commented I am still buying more, fuck you.

What I am more angry about honestly is oil up being a dollar honestly since it moved the algos.

Production cuts in the news that won't effect anything for a few months. The current reality is that there is no more storage and a crap ton of oil in tankers waiting to unload

I think they're trying to run damage control for the oil majors and keep the greater market from tanking. Like I said, they're fudding tankers and shilling oil.

Can damage control beat reality though? I don't see how negative oil can be prevented or how any semi-educated investor is buying oil right now.

>>19086977
Hopefully this is the peak now, we are approaching Friday and I don't see a 1 day -100% drop next week, it got to bleed at least a little, come on. Will they actually make a joke of the oil futures trading and dump it all in like 1 day without so much as a minus 5% leading to it?

This whole market rally was based on sentiment. I don't believe the market reflects reality any more. Not sure if it ever did. I'm not selling but the market has been openly denying fundamentals the past month.
