a felony isn't necessarily a deal breaker. I hire felons on occasion.

there are some jobs they're not allowed to work at by law. Far more than most people might realize.

we don't want them in any sensitive role because their past might make them an easy target for blackmail and espionage.

In other cases our liability insurance simply forbids it or raises our rates if we hire them.
