Northern California has winters just as harsh as the northeast. San Francisco sometimes goes below freezing at night in the summer and the daytime especially morning is regularly 50 or below. Speaking of kids, it is starting to come to light that covid isn't kind to kids at all - they start to develop rare blood disease and all kids of weird issues, some lethal, some permanently damaging.
